American heavy metal band Metallica has stumped up 50,000 dollars in reward money for a fan who disappeared at one of their concerts, a campaign website said Monday.

Police have been searching for blond-haired, blue-eyed Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington, 20, since she went missing from a Metallica concert in Charlottesville, Virginia on the evening of Saturday, October 17....

"The Band Metallica is also adding an additional 50,000 dollars to the reward bringing it to 150,000 dollars for Morgan's safe return or information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Morgan's disappearance," it said.

Metallica has also posted an appeal on its official website along with photos of Harrington under the headline, "One Of Our Fans Is Missing."

Poor girl. And her poor parents—how they must be suffering. Not much chance this is going to turn out well.

...a fan who disappeared at one of their concerts.

How do you disappear at a concert? You could disappear AFTER the concert, though.

Big kudos to Metallica (one of my all time favorites) for doing this.

I pray she’s found safe.

Don’t really care for their music, but they seem to know right from wrong and side strongly on the right. Good on em. Hope this helps soon. $150K may very well make someone talk real quick. Prayers up for the lost one.

I guess Lars heard she pirated some songs off napster.

Very sad, I hope she is found alive somehow.

“Don’t really care for their music, but they seem to know right from wrong and side strongly on the right. Good on em.”

James Hetfield has long been rumored to be conservative/libertarian on many, many issues. He doesn’t shout his politics from the roof top (thankfully) but he’s not ashamed of his beliefs either. He’s definately not a Hollywood leftist pig.

He’s one of the good guys in rock n roll and it doesn’t shock me they would do something like this. The relationship Metallica has with it’s fan base is special and they know it.

No. She literally disappeared at the concert. She went to use the restroom in the venue and hasn't been seen since. Very strange.

Have you been to these types of concerts? Crowded, loud and dark. It would be very easy to be taken during a concert and no one notice.

Good move by Metallica.

I always cringe when I hear of a beautiful girl like this
disappearing. Not that that makes her any more valuable, it's just the likelihood of what may have happened to her.
