George P. Bush, or "P" as he's known to some, is thought to be the biggest hope for a fourth generation of Bush family political leaders, with some suggesting that he might run for statewide office in Texas at some point in the next four to eight years. But, as The Daily Beast points out today, any future George P. Bush political ambitions will have to be put on hold as his Navy Reserve unit is set to be deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan in the coming weeks.
Lt. Junior Grade Bush, 33, joined the Navy Reserve in 2007 as an intelligence officer. The Navy recently told him, like thousands of others, that the two ongoing wars required him to go active-duty overseas, potentially in Iraq or Afghanistan. "It's been communicated to me that it's not a question of 'if,' it's a question of 'when,'" Bush told The Daily Beast. "It's just a matter of time."
Bush, who said that he was inspired by the service of his grandfather George H.W. Bush as well as former NFL star Pat Tillman, signed up for an eight-year term in the Navy Reserve in 2007. When word got out about his enlistment, Bush told Politico that he was "disappointed" as he'd intended to keep it under wraps, saying, "I was hoping to keep this as confidential as possible. I'm not doing it for political purposes or anything along those lines." However, prior to his joining some opponents of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan roundly criticized the Bush administration for the Bush family's lack of service in the war effort, saying that if George W. Bush was willing to send the children of other Americans into harm's way overseas,

“Lt. Junior Grade Bush, 33, joined the Navy Reserve in 2007 as an intelligence officer.”
Good for him.
33. That means he’s 2 years away from he eligibility mark.
He could actually run in 2012 and be 1000% more qualified than the Kenyan Community Organizer.
Since he was actually born in the United States and can prove it, he’s already infinitely more qualified.
Patriot.
Incidently, if you did not click through to read the entire article (and I would not have), you missed this line:
Born and raised in Florida, George P. Bush was a high school classmate of pop star Enrique Iglesias.
Which, of course, means that he has probably spent a bit of time with this woman. From I can tell by looking (diligently) on the web, she is not a big fan on swimsuit tops. Makes me wonder if there is there is a photo of George and Anna out there somewhere. Don't worry, I'll check it out.
Forgot to include the part that said George & Enrique remained close friends.
Care to name a specific “liberal” policy from either Bush presidency that you think Ronald Reagan would have handled differently? You do understand that all conservatives are “globalists,” right?
GOTCHA, LOUD and CLEAR!!!!!!
No doubt there’s a Dan Quixote Rather II or III hot in pursuit.
Just put that caffine down and step away.
I was a Ltjg at age 22..why did this guy start so late?
Good on him!
He joined the Navy Reserve in 2007.

“”Bush, 30, said in a telephone interview from his office at a real estate development firm in Fort Worth, Texas, that he was moved to join the service in part when he attended the rainy commissioning in October of the aircraft carrier named for his grandfather — the USS George H.W. Bush.
“My grandfather’s my hero, and what really sold me on the ultimate decision was having the chance to see the CVN-77 be commissioned under his name,” he said. “That was pretty moving, and I had a chance to meet some Navy admirals, as well. I had a chance to talk to them briefly about the opportunity, and I was won over.”””
NCLB was a bi-partisan act. It passed 91-8 in the Senate. Reagan would have gone certainly have signed it. He signed an abortion rights bill when he was governor of California.
I agree that Medicare was a disaster, but it is important to see it in the context of a president trying to foster enough political capital to overhaul Social Security. That’s what it was. If you like, you can also be cynical, and say that he was trying to attract senior citizen voters to future causes, which is essentially what Reagan was doing when he granted amnesty to illegal aliens.
Look, on top of the fact that I agree, we don’t need another President Bush, I’m a Reagan man. However, HW Bush was every bit the conservative President that Reagan was. And his pedigree is a lot more respectable. For the rest of time he will remain the youngest combat pilot in US Naval history. And you just don’t know enough about his grandson, who is currently fighting for your freedom to cast generalizations.
What I am concerned about is your use of the terms “socailist” and “globalist” in referrence to the Bush family. One is obviously unwarrented. The other makes no sense: Liberals and their unions worry about globalism, not Adam Smith and the conservative movement he inspired.
