This part of the article is what really gets me..
"One of the reasons so many people supported the reform effort in Massachusetts is that they were told universal coverage would lead to lower costs."
That explains it all. Including how and why people like Kerry, Fat Teddy and Bawney Fwank keep getting elected -- The people of Mass are certified morons.

Its a known fact that 'Politicians' have been lying to 'the people' since they first landed at Plymouth Rock and made the first treaty with the Indians. So anyone who believes them now deserves what they get.

All that's true, but none of it is because of health reform. Massachusetts had the highest per capita health spending of all the states two years before health reform became law. It's still a high-cost state, in part because it has some of the finest, and most expensive, hospitals in the world.

Health costs are going up in Massachusetts, to be sure. They (costs) are also going up in every state, at a pace of 9 or 10 percent a year, about the same as here. Nationally, average health insurance premiums have doubled since 2000. Those increases have hit the state budget hard, especially coupled with a recession-driven revenue shortfall of historic proportions.

Glenn Beck called MA reform disaster ‘Romney-care’ last night. He also said it's a failure. I rarely hear FNC use that term.

But don't forget Obama’s motivating words, ‘ We must do something’, ‘Doing nothing is NOT an option’, ‘Now is the time’, and ‘It will cost more to do nothing’.

Feeling better yet? Like the Economic Recovery jobs bill, he is NOT promising it will make anything better. No, No, No, He is promising that it will make things worse, but not as worse as if we didn't pass it.

He learned the politics of crisis from that last guy ('we must pre-empt Mushroom clouds over American Cities', 'we must pass TARP immediately to avoid a depression' ) , except uses it 10 times more. Oh yes, “If you are opposed to democrat reform, opposed to the democrat doomsday sales pitch, you are a fear monger. Or a hate monger. ” Fear you say? My favorite democrat argument is the public plan is needed for all those people who lost their insurance because they didnt get a job promised to them by democrats passing the 700B on-our-credit-card Economic Recovery stimulus package.

Can we 'opt-out' of all the debt that democrats are running up?

Enemies?

Bit paranoid me thinks...

Anyways...

Red, Red, Red, what are we going to do with you Romney guys...

Ok, I will play along.

Lets us, just for a minute, totally dismiss the idea that ANY government health care effort is an anathema to anyone person claiming Conservative credentials.

Furthermore let us take you 85% liberal legislature, something Mitt had to be aware of, and assume the either Mitt is the most politically naive SOB in thinking that they would not modify the plan or is the the most two faced politician out there and knew it and did not care because it fit his socialist agenda while at the same time letting him try and claim to be a conservative.

Let us dismiss all of that.

Let us assume, for a moment that your “it's not Romneycare because the plan was rejected yada yada yada” argument holds water (a mere thimble full, but I am willing to work with it)

I don't know if you were around a while back, but posted here several times was an opinion piece written by Mitt just 6 months ago in which he praised {RAISED his plan and took credit for it.

Yes he took credit for the plan that has come to be known by the man who planned it, introduced it and still supports it EVEN AFTER THE DEMOCRATS SUPPOSEDLY DMAMAGED IT!

ROMNEYcare is all his.

For a little lite reading I have provided even more recent article by Mitt from August where he sings the praised of his plan YET AGAIN, two years after your ‘rejection” argument. I also included several others.

Your thimble is empty, the water has evaporated. Anyone still trying to claim Mitt is a conservative, and more over trying to defend ROMNEYcare is either the most gullible Conservative on the planet, has not idea what the term means or has another agenda all together.

But please, keep trying, it is so much fun to watch his sycophants try and defend the plan, and him.

For a plan that, as you say, not ROMNEYcare, he sure does take credit for it doesn't he.

Thanks for playing, but you are wrong, sorry.

In Mass. people don’t sign up until they get ill, then drop it when they get well. Great program ;-)

“Cadillac Charlie got rich the same way Adam Clayton Powell did. Or an even better example... LBJ.

That is — They did it ‘the old fashioned way’, they stole it from the taxpayers “

Rangel caught red handed.....still no prosecution.

*** Rangel caught red handed.....still no prosecution. ***

iirc, it took some time for the law to get Adam Clayton Powell too.

(I was a young whippersnapper then but it seemed like it took forever. I just recall seeing headline after headline after headline.)

From your quote:

"They (costs) are also going up in every state, at a pace of 9 or 10 percent a year, about the same as here"

Sorry, but this is simply not true. The author is either misinformed or being deliberately obtuse. Nationally, health insurance premiums went up by about 5-6% last year. It was a 9-10% increase in Massachusetts, however.

Obama: We must do something’, ‘Doing nothing is NOT an option’, ‘Now is the time’, and ‘It will cost more to do nothing’.

Same old Keynesian claptrap. Worked so! well during the depression didn't it.
