What is Daggett’s political philosophy? Is he taking votes away from Christie or Corzine?

Every vote for Daggett is a vote for Corzine. As Daggett's numbers have gone up, Christie's have gone down.

Corzine is polling in pretty much the same range (38% - 42%) he's been at for the last year.

Heard a very good analysis that talks about past trends with 3rd party candidates. Basically it is understood that Daggett is pealing votes off of Christie. Ideologically he is a centrist.

Historically, 3rd party candidates poll higher than their actual vote total because when folks actually get in the booth, they have to make the decision on whether to “waste” their vote or not.

So bottom line, the final analysis was that the pollsters can't accurately model this race and that it is anyone's game at this point.

Shep Smith was just citing some poll that had Corzine up nine against Christi.

Being a cynic,I can’t help but wonder if Corzine is paying Daggett to split Christies vote;without a third party,Corzine is toast.

Pretty much a BS poll, because Rasmussen just release a poll today with Christie up 3.

But I am shocked that Shep would put forward a poll showing the Republican down by 11 (sarcasm off).

Christie has a chance because many NJ voters will confuse the candidate with Christie Whitman.

Whatever. Anything that gets an incumbent out of office is good.

Daggett once worked for Corzine.
He's about as independent as Granholm

Dagget is an envirowhacko. His politics are strictly left wing. The pundits are saying he will take votes away from Christie. But that just does not pass the common sense test. Here’s what we’re facing in NJ. Corzine has spent millions of his own dollars to get reelected—some it overtly and some of it not so overtly. He has pretty much bought and paid for the inner city black so-called clergy in the state. ACORN is busy signing up as many dead and/or ineligible “voters” as it can. Corzine can count on the unions—including teacher and civil service—to get out the vote for him. In districts where the vote is close he can count on the courts to come to his aid. These in and of themselves are formidable obstacles.

But the other problem is that Christie is at best a tepid campaigner. If he had kept on pounding on taxes and government spending he would be faring better.

All that said, Christie may just sneak in under the wire if enough honest and angry voters get their butts to the polls on Nov. 4th. One would think that Corzine’s dismal stewardship of the Governors Office and rampant state-wide political corruption would be enough to motivate any rational person to vote against him.

Daggett is so far to the left that I actually felt insulted by his web page.

“Daggett once worked for Corzine.

That explains a lot. You should have heard Hugh Hewitt interview Daggett. He would not say one bad or negative thing about Corzine. I thought right there that he was a plant to draw votes away from Christie.
