Honestly, at this point, the most rational interpretation of his behavior is that he’s trying to get people to hate him.

All the stuff he “leaked” in Vanity Fair were promptly disproved, and dismissed out of hand..by a female reporter from, believe it or not, NBC. There is a video of it from somewhere on this site.
