The CIA may have misled Congress at least five times since 2001, two Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee said Tuesday.

Intelligence subcommittee Chairwomen Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.) and Anna Eshoo (D-Calif.) are leading an investigation into what they described as a practice of incomplete and often misleading intelligence briefings, which arose in the wake of CIA Director Leon Panetta’s June 24 admission that intelligence officials failed to notify Congress about a top-secret program to assassinate al Qaeda leaders.

Dims’ playbook:
(1) When in trouble, blame Bush. (2). See number 1.

The CIA knows too much about who Obama really is, about his activities, and about his friends. Interesting that Fitzgerald's prosecution of Tony Rezko seemed likely to open all sorts of doors, but disappeared almost a year ago. Rezko was never sentenced. Fitz was of course with the justice department. He is now ruled by a real Berio - Eric Holder.

Its a reasonable assumption with this mob that CIA needs to be kept in line; the threat of being disbanded already over their heads. Panetta appears to be a yes man. He may be cleaner than his bosses and thus not so susceptible to the blackmail used on past directors. Holder appears to be unscrupulous and vicious enough to sell anyone down the river, like his boss. This is a coup and we are watching the leadership assert their command before they have complete control of the elections, and revert to the dictatorship of the proletariat.

[In June, Panetta alerted the House Intelligence Committee about a top-secret program to assassinate top al Qaeda operatives that previously had not been disclosed to Congress.]

Dec. 15, 2002—New York Times:

BUSH HAS WIDENED AUTHORITY OF CIA TO KILL TERRORISTS

WASHINGTON, Dec. 14 The Bush administration has prepared a list of terrorist leaders the Central Intelligence Agency is authorized to kill, if capture is impractical and civilian casualties can be minimized, senior military and intelligence officials said.

The previously undisclosed C.I.A. list includes key Qaeda leaders like Osama bin Laden and his chief deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri, as well as other principal figures from Al Qaeda . . .

Wow, the CIA was trying to kill Al-Qaeda leaders in the Bush years? What a secret that was.

Pelosi is looking for cover and has a few back benchers in Congress trying to save her pathetic rep.

A distraction tactic.

Americans are sick of this crap. I don’t even think this will work on left-leaning independents. Folks are focused on the economy, and even the LLIs are realizing, I think, that BO stinks on that issue.

The Slam Dunk CIA? The North Koreans would never invade CIA? The Vietnam data kings CIA? The East German economy is the same size as the West German economy CIA? The Berlin Wall is safe and secure CIA? Saddam is in Kuwait CIA?

I don’t believe it.

( At least the Dems are slapping back, not giving out awards after getting pwned )

In June, Panetta alerted the House Intelligence Committee about a top-secret program to assassinate top al Qaeda operatives that previously had not been disclosed to Congress. Later reports indicated that former Vice President Dick Cheney had ordered the CIA not to notify Congress of the program.

It's my understanding that this was just a program on paper..it wasn't activated. So the CIA is responsible for telling congress everything it "might" do ? Not a good idea.

Intelligence subcommittee Chairwomen Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.) and Anna Eshoo (D-Calif.)

Associating the word "intelligence" with these two screeching hacks is a bit of a stretch.

The real question is who put these non-entities on the House Intelligence Committee in the first place? That’s who is pulling the strings on these ‘investigations’.
