We got 2 inches of snow last night and according to the weather service we will get snow on and off until Thursday night or Friday morning.

Supposed to be clear, sunny and about 71 degrees, with a mild pacific breeze in Southern California today.

Forecasters saying 2 FEET in northwest Denver (Boulder) and 3 Feet in higher elevations.

We had about an inch this am, and it is a bit early in the season for it. We generally do not have snow before Halloween. We did have a trace in 2004 tho, and then back in 1991.

Our typical September/October weather is a warm, sunny Indian Summer. The colder stuff usually arrives around Halloween, which is the source of a lot of jokes about kids having to cover up their costumes to go trick or treating. So, this storm is about on schedule. At least it'll be out of here by the big night.

But, it's a transitional time and we're high enough a fall storm can come through as snow instead of rain.

A few years ago we got a mid-October storm people still call "The October Blizzard." It was notorious because the leaves were still on the trees and the heavy snow brought down lots of trees and limbs.

Heavy, wet snow started falling last night and melting, but it's still coming down hard and is beginning to stick.

You'd think after 10 years of no warming the "scientists" on the alarmist side would admit climate is more complicated than CO2 levels and something else is driving things.

I am near Fort Collins and we got about 3 inchs last night it snowing pretty good right now. It is one of those snows that you know it isn’t going away anytime soon.

Fort Collins schools are closed today which wasn’t a bad call. It is much easier to close them to begin with instead of sending the kids home early.
