Well if he’s in scoring position he should not be subject to prosecution. Common Knowledge.

I have talked to several people that knew Matt Shepard at U of Wyoming and not one had anything good to say about him and it was not about him being gay.

"Funny, what's the difference between a "hate crime" and "crime"?

A crime came be committed by anyone.

A "hate crime" is a capricious or arbitrary government designation for thoughts, speech, and actions - levied against a Christian, Jew, or Caucasian - the sole purpose being to intimidate and stifle criticism of special interest constituencies.

====Hate isn’t the only dangerous passion. Love is often as bad.======

Not the kind of LOVE that the Bible explains...anything can be “bad” even food. However, when followed the way GOD intended, anything is good.

“Priests and ministers need to be unintimidated by this, and openly defy this intimidation attempt.”
*************************************

Agreed, 1000%

In fact i was going to post that thought, but decided to talk about not being prosecuted while “on the bases” in the post above yours.

BUT, contrary to the headline, they need not be concerned- they need to be DEFIANT.

THIS is how we will show we are mad as hell and aren’t going to take it anymore!

What is a ‘clergy discount?’ I have been in the ministry since ‘76 and have not asked for or encountered such a thing.

The “hate crime” bill was first signed by Christian congress-critters before it ended up on Obama’s desk for his signature.

One state has classified ‘hate crimes’ as those actions and words directed toward ex-homosexuals as well. Maybe we should extol the virtues of the ex-homosexual when we speak out concerning the homosexual/lesbian relationship and their impact on society. It will show that we have no hate on our part but rather want to put forward the truth.
On my part the emotion of hate, or even hatred itself, has nothing to do with my preaching and exegesis of Scripture. I have cared one who was HIV positive and my home is open to care for others. But sexual sin will not be allowed under my roof (homosexual or heterosexual).
I can not compromise or change what God has said. God will hold me accountable if I do.

This was coming as soon as America elected a Democratic congress and president. The gay lobby has wanted this law for years. It's a vehicle to muzzle any kind of public argument against homosexual behavior.

I doubt the gay groups will be foolish enough to go after ministers - at the outset. They must realize that would put them on the wrong side of the issue. Remember, the gay groups always pretend that their members live in tremendous fear of 'haters' attacking them for 'being gay'. A local preacher/priest quoting scripture that mentions homosexuality as being a sin hardly qualifies as 'hate speech', as much as the lawyers for gay groups want to pretend that it does. Nobody buys that.

The reality is that most Americans have been conditioned to tolerate homosexual behavior but they still don't think it's 'normal'. Young men still use the word 'homo' to mock another young man and it's still an invitation to fight.

Arresting a preacher for quoting scripture that defines homosexual behavior as a sin would be met with the kind of negative public attention most gays don't want and would undercut the sympathy they always try to get by pretending that they're hapless victims of 'hate'.

However, give it a few years and the gay groups will attempt to use this new law to persecute those who oppose homosexuality, even if that person is a minister quoting the Holy Bible. That will be interesting.

"Simply explain why sodomy is a sin, why it causes disease, why it leads to early death, etc."

Not as simple as that.

The lines of conflict, the sides of the battle were determined thousands of years ago.

Deu 32:31 For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.
Deu 32:32 For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter:

For thousands of years they have charaded as priests and used the cloak and mantle of religion to brutalize children, to indoctrinate and chain them to their twisted order and purpose.

They have been single minded in purpose to capture and control all aspects of government and commerce. You would be hard pressed to find a governmental official or even a small town mayor that has not joined or sided with them.

So much so that the devil exclaimed that God has given him all of the earth when tempting Yeshua. (Time is short)

All this came to pass while the common man was worried by daily affairs, bread for table, clothes for the kids.

They do have ought to offer, but as it was when Adam and Eve partook of the forbidden fruit, the knowledge of good and evil, the first realization was regret and shame and the first consequence; expulsion from paradise.

If you ponder eternity, they have nothing to offer which can compensate the loss that is incurred.
In time all can be realized and acquired by righteous endeavor.

It's a god awful shame but they now hold your nations' highest office.

Funny, what’s the difference between a “hate crime” and “crime”?

A presumptive jurisdictional shift to administrative law from common law, involving the compelling of restricted privileges and obligations while denying negative Constitutional rights.

This "thought crimes" legislation is to the leftists' ardent desire to arrest all religious people what Lawrence v. Texas was to the homonazis' push for faux marriage.

There is a contingent of conservative legal groups who have promised to take this to court as unconstitutional. I pray they will prevail.

Pastor, I think “hate” has altogether gotten a bad rap lately, and we show ourselves to have fallen into the deadly thought process of the godless left when we think on their terms and disparage all “hate” instead of remaining faithful to that which is revealed in Scripture. God, who is perfect and infinite Love, hates. And he has commanded us to hate - not always people, but ideologies, lifestyles, even “good” things for the sake of the Kingdom.
