TRENTON, N.J. — The independent candidate running for governor in New Jersey says a Massachusetts Republican has urged him to quit the race.

Chris Daggett says he’s received two phone calls and an e-mail from Christy Mihos, who warned that Daggett would be blamed if Republican Chris Christie loses a bid to unseat Democrat Jon Corzine.

Interesting, since Mihos ran as an IND in 2006.

Daggett can't keep a secret and he's not too savvy. Geesh.....I think he shot himself in the foot or GAPING MOUTH!

I don't have a dog in this fight.

I think there is a lot more to this story. The Daggett interview by Hugh Hewitt was very revealing. Daggett would say nothing negative about Corzine. I say he is a plant.

Well ... DUH! ... Anyone who can rub two brain cells together can figure it out: Corzine has approval ratings in the basement. like 30% or so. Splitting the anti-Corzine vote is the only way Corzine can win. Therefore, Daggett SHOULD be blamed if he runs more than the margin of error of the Corzine-Christie difference. In fact, polls show Christie barely ahead EVERY VOTE AND TURNOUT WILL COUNT.

I wouldn't be surprised if Corzine supporters are secretly keeping Daggett afloat. Daggett's Corzine only hope for re-election.

The message to freepers is this: Support Christie.

Really!?!? Yikes, that does reek. Corzine is corrupt as all get-out and Daggett is a *challenger*.

I can't not imagine that Daggett is legitimately pulling 13% of the vote. I can only imagine that he is polling well above what his actual vote totals will be. By now anyone who plans to vote for this guy must realize they are basically voting for Corzine by proxy.

Outside NJ, we don’t really care who wins. It’s a mess and the Republican will just get the blame. It’s like California. Any Republican who gets it will probably wish he didn’t have it.

Maybe he’s being paid by the RATS.

We received our ballots today -- Daggett's name is buried in the pile of names on the right side of the ballot. I can't imagine he'll get 13%. Even if someone was inclined to vote for him, they'll have a hard time finding his name.

I was told Daggett is Jim Florio’s law partner. Puleeeze where the heck did Daggett come from, if not as a scheme to reelect Corzine witha minority ofthe vote? It’s obvious.

It does look more and more that Daggett is a plant. Christie appears to be a RINO, but this is a case where the Rat is just so horrific, the RINO needs to be supported here.

Plus, the real victory (IMO) of a Christie victory is the psychological defeat of the Barry 0 administration. Combine a NJ win with wins in VA (McDonnell and the rest of the ticket) and NY-23 (Hoffman) and we have our 2010 preview. That is if we are allowed to vote.

If that’s true, then it’s plainly obvious. Good tip - thank you!

Ann Colter and Hannity were just talking about this and said Daggett sounds like a plant. Do not doubt for a moment that the dems will do anything, cheat or steal an election.

Quite frankly, this is sage advice.

A vote for Daggett is a vote for Corzine, because it takes a vote away from Christie.

Christie is a first class RINO, but a RINO still beats a Dem(except in NY-23!!!)

My former state is a political cesspool. But Daggett is a spoiler, and there is no way he can win at 10%. He will be the Perot in the 1996 Presidential race. And you know how that turned out.

The vote fraud alone in the inner NJ cities will be worth 2-3 points for Corzine.

I’m so cynical, that when I heard that the liberal Newark Star-Ledger endorsed Daggett it was because they wanted to ensure a Corzine win.

See, if the Star Ledger endorsed Daggett that shows you exactly why Daggett is in the race. Corzine is hated so they wanted to create a candidate who can be supported by disaffected libs and prevent them jumping ship all the way to Christie.

What the Star Ledger is saying: We know you hate Corzine, but don’t switch to Christie, just waste your vote on this Daggett guy. They know Dagett can’t win, they hate Corzine too, but they hate republicans even more.

From Daggett’s bio:

“Recently, on behalf of Governor Corzine, he was appointed as chairman of the New Jersey DEP Permit Efficiency Task Force,....”

I don’t think there’s much doubt that Corzine is paying off Daggett as a spoiler.

In fact, see #16. Probably the post mentioned there is just a first installment.

True!

What a sickening choice.

Christie is a RHINO but Corzine is WORSE.
