WASHINGTON (CNN) Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is acknowleding that the health care plan he famously implemented as governor did nothing to address costs.
"We were unable to deal with - and didn't have any pretense we would somehow be able to change - health care costs in Massachusetts," Romney said in an interview with CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta. "We still have a fee for service, a re-imbursement system here like every other state in America. That's the way Medicare and Medicaid are structured, that's the way the insurance industry is structured."
Romney said "Massachusetts is not the model" for reducing health care costs.

O RLY, Slick Willard???
"Every uninsured citizen in Massachusetts will soon have affordable health insurance and the costs of health care will be reduced." MITT ROMNEY, APRIL 11, 2006
Government cannot cut the cost of anything!
They can only cut prices, which leads to rationing, black markets, quality reduction, waiting lists, etc...
Captioning the “health”care Baystate Boondoggle signing photo in your post #1: (Teddy’s behind-the-back ventriloquist-like gruntline he’s giving the Mythster) “Yeah, laugh now, Dem puppet.”
IN light of my caption to post #1, the only song Mitt could be singing here is: “I’m your puppet. I’m your puppet.”
Government cannot cut the cost of anything!
Not true. Government can reduce regulation or limit frivolous lawsuits for instance.
and then there are those who call it “wildly successful”
Romney’s sell out on MA health care will probably doom future aspirations for higher office.
The "hated"(?) commercial HMO/PPO plans pay 140% of hospital costs to make up the difference, and they - who bear this massive hidden tax or cost shift - get all the blame!!!! So crazy .....
This is just one state, but it is essentially the same story across America , and is rapidly getting worse as the states and the feds accelerate the problem. A "public option" paying Medicare rates will: force hospitals to make drastic cost and staff cuts, lead to heavy unionization of hospitals, bankruptcy in short order for most hospitals, and the "need" for federal bailouts and control over hospitals. Ho-hum?
As well it should, and I intend to yoke him with that every opportunity I can when someone brings his name up as a candidate for president.
You betcha...if it is Barry Hussein Sotero (or whatever his name was in elementary school) Vs. Romney as the GOP nominee,]
I will pull the lever for Romney.
That does not mean I have made up my mind to vote for Romney
in the primaries. Currently Pence is high on my list.
But I can not give BHO any advantage.
I refuse to pull the lever for either of two liberals.
Too late to say otherwise now after you performance the past few months.r
You forgot one important detail!
I preferred Romney over McCain & Huckster in the last primary.
No other choices were in play by the time the election was
held in Wash state.
Of course I voted McCain over Barry Sotero.
OK but then your liberal cousins will enthusiastically vote for Barry Hussein Sotero. So you are helping Barry get elected by default. How stupid!
As opposed to electing a liberal snake like Romney who will end up accomplishing things that an avowed Marxist Democrat like Obama would have only dreamed of accomplishing?
Thanks, but NO THANKS!
I don't vote for liberals, no matter what letters follow their names!
