How many times have you heard Barack Obama talk about "the fierce urgency of now"? The president has used the quote, from Martin Luther King Jr., to call for quick action on the war in Iraq, on global warming, on homelessness, on education -- you name it.
Now, Obama and his fellow Democrats are trying to convince the nation of the fiercely urgent need to enact health-care reform this very instant.
"We have been waiting for health reform since the days of Teddy Roosevelt," Obama told the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation in September. "We cannot wait any longer. . . There comes a time to remember the fierce urgency of right now."

I’m surprised that none of the professional ‘word parsers’ in the Media (or on FR, for that matter..) didn’t pick up on this...
A couple of weeks ago, during the MSNBC interview about the ‘War on Fox News’, (the one where he made the vapid ‘not losing any sleep’ comment), Mr. Obama listed the concerns of the American Public as “Jobs and the War in Afghanistan” - not one word about Healthcare or Cap&Tax...
In the most off-handed manner, he admitted that his priorities are not our priorities....
2010’s gonna be a ‘beaut.
His other admission is that he understands or believes that the American public is more concerned about the crisis at hand than the loss of their 1st Amendment rights. That is also interesting. Never waste a good crisis.
