Jersey Tax Revolt (Christie Taking Lead on Corzine in New Polls)
New York Post ^ | 10/28/09

Two polls yesterday show GOP challenger Chris Christie taking the lead over Gov. Jon Corzine, who had pulled even in recent days (and even ahead in another poll) in New Jersey's heated gubernatorial race.

Given the vicious and intensely personal negative ads that Corzine has used to pummel Christie, the fact that the corruption-busting former prosecutor has regained the lead shows just how fed up Garden State voters are.

The Rasmussen Reports poll gives Christie a 46-43 percent edge, with 7 percent for independent Chris Daggett and 4 percent undecided.

And a Public Policy Polling survey puts Christie up 42-38 percent, with 13 percent for Daggett.

Yes, Corzine's ad blitzkrieg has had an effect. But Jersey voters have likely finally reached the "we're sick and tired and not going to take it anymore" point when it comes to the state's crippling, highest-in-the-nation tax burden.

good news bump - if you know anyone in NJ, call them and tell them to vote for Christie.

If Corzine falls in NJ, Obamacare is DOA.

The Suffolk poll was such a joke showing Corzine with a lead, only 400 people were polled and the majority (over 300) were from a Democratic County.

The Corzine Camp is trying to depress Republicans, don’t fall for it, and don’t fall for the Liberal Daggett, Daggett isn’t a Conservative and he want to raise taxes.

I will believe that New Jersey has turned its back on corruption and Democrats (I know, it’s an oxymoron) when Republicans count the votes or the Stanley Cup playoffs are held in Hades, whichever comes first.

I understand that Christie is better than Corzine however I was very taken back a few nights ago on while watching Hannity when Christie would not agree that a citizen has a right to own a gun.

Especially if I lived in NJ, I would want to own a gun and have the ability to defend myself and my family in my own home. I’m sorry, but what does population density have to do with gun ownership?

Is Christie talking a conservative message at least?

I think anyone who ran for governor promising to gut the government by 50% across the board would be elected in a landslide

And RINO’s should be hunted down. They are WORSE than democraps

Every time I’ve heard Christie speaking on TV and radio, he sounds conservative. I still think it’s too bad Longergan didn’t win the primary. But if I lived in NJ, I would certainly vote for Christie.

I heard Christie on Imus this morning and he's a great interviewee. He will be a major improvement over Corzine.

I saw an amazing headline yesterday in one of the Philly News Sites, it stated that for the FIRST time Corzine was leading Christie. Was such a ridiculous headline I didn't even read it, one of the where the writer just posts something they wish were true.

"Is Christie talking a conservative message at least?"

Actions speak louder than talk. Cristie's first decision was to pick a pro-choice running mate - Kim Guadagno. Of some interest is he doesn't show her name on his campaign posters.

Unfortunately, the OBamabots sent into NJ an aide to take over Corzine’s campaign with a few days left. Here is how it will go. ACORN-SEIU, unions, walking round monies, cheating registrars of voters will somehow get just enough votes for the corrupt Corzine to defeat a tax cutter like Christie. If it doesn’t go like that, an earthquake will occur in Newark. And in DC.

I'm in CT and keep hearing conflicting poll numbers for this race. Anyone think Christie has a really decent chance to win?
