Who's Pulling Obama's Strings?
FoxNews ^ | October 30, 2009 | Liz Peek

Obama fans are in a tight spot. As the White House turns ever harsher and more divisive, supporters are scrambling to explain why President Obama sounds so very different from Campaigner Obama. There are two possible explanations, neither of which is flattering. The first is that Obama was insincere on the campaign trail. The second is that his advisors – David Axelrod and Rahm Emanuel -- are in control. The latter view is bound to take hold and it will not boost the president’s flagging popularity ratings.

Many who voted for President Obama feel deceived. When he said in Florida last year “we cannot afford the same political games and tactics that are being used to pit us against one another,” people believed him. When he extolled “rejecting fear and division for unity of purpose,” people believed him. When he said on election night “I will listen to you, especially when we disagree,” people believed him.

Why has the president left those admirable promises behind? Why is his administration going after Fox News, the Chamber of Commerce, insurance executives, AIG management, the drug industry, the Chrysler bondholders and any and all who oppose his policies?

Many believe that Obama is being manipulated by his political adviser David Axelrod and his Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. The aura of Chicago politics drifts over the capital like a smog.

This is a consistent anti-president meme, no matter who is in office. The only thing that changes is who makes the accusations. Someone other than the President is always in charge.

FDR, communist party.

Reagan, Nancy.

Clinton, Hillary.

Bush, Halliburton.

Obama, Soros. Or King Saud.

Axelrod and Rahm are part of it, but look no farther than Valerie Jarrett and wife Michelle to complete the “Chicago Team”.

More and more people that voted for him are turning against him. I believe he, and those that control him, knew this would happen. This is the main reason for trying to push so much through Congress so fast. Democrats in general are leaving their party. They see what’s happening and they don’t like it. Democrats and Republicans can and should come together (not that they will agree on everything) to stop the take over of our country by these socialists.

Thanks for adding Jarrett — her mother and Tom Ayers were friends. We also need Bill Ayers and his wife Bernadette Dohrn who are good friends with Jarrett.

What makes him so dangerous and hard to figure out is there is no “there” there.

He is an empty vessel. While he might have some ideas of his own, he is devoid of principles. It’s the reason his associates MATTER; they are the ones that fill up the empty vessel.Unelected people control his every thought and move.

It’s like those who decide how many Milky Ways, smarties, and Tootsie Roll Pops are in the pinata.

I'm not sure there are as many Democrats against it as there are Republicans for it.

The difference is, none of the other Presidents ran away from the responsibilities of the office at every opportunity.

Exactly right. And the president has far less room to maneuver and impose his political ideas -- crackpot or otherwise -- than we imagine. I once heard a Catholic clergyman say priests want to be bishops, bishops want to be cardinals, cardinals want to be pope, and the pope wants to be a humble parish priest.

I am sick of hearing Obama is being controlled by Rahm, Soro’s and Axie. He is but he agrees with their radical views.
