President Obama today extended a federal AIDS program that an unlikely pair of Republicans – one blasted for being "anti-gay" and the other chairman of an organization for homosexual conservatives – criticized earlier this month as a foreshadow of the rationing and waiting lists sure to come if the U.S. adopts even more government-run health care programs.
In a ceremony this morning, Obama signed the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Extension Act, which continues a federal program that provides up to $2.5 billion annually in medication for AIDS patients.
The move was lauded by many homosexual advocates, including Human Rights Campaign President Joe Solmonese, who called the extension a "tremendous step" on behalf of people with HIV and AIDS.
But in a joint opinion piece called "Govt.-Run Health Care Isn't the Answer," published in the online version of The Advocate, a leading homosexual magazine, Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., and GOProud's Christopher R. Barron warned the homosexual community that the Ryan White CARE Act has already demonstrated how government-run health care has introduced rationing and waiting lists and cost the lives of the people under its provisions.

Yup...rationing has begun, and it’s going to get worse if any of the so-called health reform bills get through. In typical fashion, government will take a situation and make it worse.
A friend of mine who works in the health field said they were the last in line to get the vaccine.

“Much was made about the possible bird flu pandemic during the 2004 election, President Bush was run through the ringer because America was not ready for the impending pandemic. That crisis never came to pass. But here we have another pandemic that the government has warned us about and President Obama has remained blameless about his incompetence to protect the American people from the impending doom that his administration has said is coming.
In light of the Swine flu crisis we would hope that the government would distribute the vaccine to the states in a timely manner but last week we learned that the United States will begin to divert 10% of the vaccine to foreign nations before all Americans who are in the stated risk groups have had the vaccine made available to them.
President Obama tried to downplay this revelation as a misunderstanding, or poor communication, but today we have learned that Kathleen is still considering sending 10% of the vaccine overseas before all at risk Americans have received their vaccination.
She admits that the government knew all along that there would be a Swine flu vaccine shortage but that the United States entered into an agreement anyway to give away vaccines to foreign countries, and she is still considering doing just that.”
