Hoffman 45%; Owens 26%; Scozzafava 17% (Last night's results from the PPP poll)
Public Policy Poll ^ | 10/31/09

With about 200 interviews down we had Hoffman 45 Owens 26 Scozzafava 17...her withdrawal will just make it that much easier for Hoffman

Well that wrecks our NY-23 poll. We're finding Hoffman with more support than Owens and Scozzafava combined...explains the withdrawal

This is from the Twitter account from the director doing the poll.

Obviously, there are two days left to poll, but Hoffman did extremely well.

Oh, and PPP is a Democratic poll.

Awesome. Hope it is not meant to be misleading somehow. We need all the Hoffman supporters in NY-23 to get out and vote now, not assume that the job is done.

They have to throw out the results thus far and start from scratch.

So where do those 17% go??

She will still be on the ballot. We must remember that.

Hoffmanneeds to keep hitting Owens hard on jobs, uemployment, big government and taxes. If he keeps hammering away on Owens on these issues, he’ll win in a landslide.

Tuesday, we’ll find out which poll is more accurate PPP or Siena, which has Owens leading by 1 point.

The Wild Cards in the race are:

1) Where will Dede’s supporters go

2) Election Day turnout. Heavy Turnout benefits Hoffman. Light turnout might benefit Owens.

Seems just last week that the Dems were trying to use this race as justification to claim that Obama hadn't lost his mojo. Looks like all Democratic hopes are on New Jersey now by the looks of this poll. If Christie pulls out New Jersey, look for a major shake up in the Democratic political machine. Maybe Evan Bayh for majority leader perhaps; just a SWAG.

I hope Hoffman stays with the Conservative Party and doesn’t join the Republicans until they come back to their roots. The GOP needs to learn a lesson from this in a bad way.

Hopefully this race will end the idea that voting for a third party is a wasted vote.

How are you going to know when they have come back to their roots sufficiently to suit you? What is your gauge?

My congressman is Steve King and he's working his butt off to do the very things you guys want and yet, you can't find a good thing to say about any Republican.

I know he has plenty of help. The truth is we have a very great core of conservatives in congress. We need to do all we can to send them reinforcements. We need to make it the goal of all of to get RATS out of control of congress.

You need to turn your ire to Democrats--not Republicans.

“The GOP needs to learn a lesson from this in a bad way.”

I think they did, hence DeDe’s withdrawal.

‘It seems to have shaken up at least One RINO.

It’s only wasted if you don’t suppose a conservative GOP.

For those that (understandably) think that we will manage to snag defeat from the jaws of victory, keep in mind why Scarface HAD to drop out...and that was because the NY and National Republicans (i.e., the ones who anointed her) could not allow her to finish a distant 3rd place in a contested race.

By Hoffman catching up and overtaking, and with the national Republicans (with some idiot exceptions) taking Hoffman’s side, this became MUCH bigger problem than a measly Congressional seat in New York. Instead the Northeast Republicans (if not also the national party) were staring a COUP in the face and were on the brink of losing complete control of the party, and having it taken over by CONSERVATIVES (i.e., Hoffman, if no one else - but Sarah too).

Put another way, if their anointed candidate gets whipped by an Independent, then any claim they have to represent the rank and file Republicans is invalid.

Obama coming to Jersey tomorrow. Biden will campaign for Owens on Monday. So the races in Jresey and the NY-23 are fluid. The White House has dumped Deeds.

There was no primary vote to weed out the RINO.

I wonder how many early voters wasted their votes on Scozzafava?
