Another surprise in the hotly contested special House election in upstate New York: This morning, the Republican candidate, Dede Scozzafava, suspended her campaign and released her supporters.
She hasnt endorsed either of her rivals, but told her local paper that a Siena Research Institute poll out today showed her too far behind to be a viable candidate.

With DEDE out, I don’t think it’ll be close. I think Hoffman will win big. JMHO.
She ran on the Republican ticket as a Democrat.
So, why doesn’t she endorse Hoffman?
"Don't let the door hit you on the way out!"
[So, why doesnt she endorse Hoffman?]
Because she wants Owens to win.
Newt jumping in front of a parade as it passes by again to show his “leadership” skills.
(I posted this on other threads, but I think it’s worth repeating, so people understand the true significance of this morning)
For those that (understandably) think that we will manage to snag defeat from the jaws of victory, keep in mind why Scarface HAD to drop out...and that was because the NY and National Republicans (i.e., the ones who anointed her) could not allow her to finish a distant 3rd place in a contested race.
By Hoffman catching up and overtaking, and with the national Republicans (with some idiot exceptions) taking Hoffmans side, this became MUCH bigger problem than a measly Congressional seat in New York. Instead the Northeast Republicans (if not also the national party) were staring a COUP in the face and were on the brink of losing complete control of the party, and having it taken over by CONSERVATIVES (i.e., Hoffman, if no one else - but Sarah too).
Put another way, if their anointed candidate gets whipped by an Independent, then any claim they have to represent the rank and file Republicans is invalid.
She won’t endorse anyone....at least the RINO’S HOPE she won’t......because she probably wants to endorse Owens....cause she’s really a SOCIALIST DEMOCRAT in RINO clothing!
Go, Hoffman!
I am imagining Hoffman having breakfast this morning going, “Who’d a thunk it would go this way. I was just trying to make a point and now it looks like I get to make the point in Congress.”
Cool...
Perhaps I am feeling overly generous today, but there is a case to be made that she dropped out for the good of the GOP. It is certainly good for the Republicans that she dropped out. A Democrat loss here can hammer the nail in Obamacare, Cap and Trade, and a host of the more radical efforts that the Dems have been pushing. It will be all the more scary to the Dems if they lose to a 3rd party that is to the right of the GOP on a lot of issues.
Ms. Scozzafava does not need to endorse her Conservative opponent to get the job done. She did what she needed to do and the Republican party will be better off if others decide that the good of the party is worth considering.
Anyway, I try not to complain or gloat when anybody does anything that is helpful to the conservative cause, irrespective of their motives.
I think you ARE being “overly generous”.....I do NOT trust ANYONE who supports card check, works with by ACORN, and whose husband is a union mucky muck.
You may be right, but I never got much when I slammed folks who did what I thought they ought to do, irrespective of their motives.
I see today that the strumpet has endorsed the Dem. I take it all back. To hell with her. You are absolutely correct and I was absolutely wrong.
I’m probably older than you...that’s how I knew! It’s sad though that we have come to this point where so many LIE!
