"Doug Hoffman and NY-23 is an earthquake in American politics, and is the first of many challenges to establishment Republicans that we will see for the 2010 elections and beyond. The stupid decision by Republican leaders to pour $900,000 into the NY-23rd race against a conservative has unleashed a fury that will lead to new GOP leadership.

Let the RINOs hang out on the double yellow, dodging lane drifters.
One can only hope.
Wow...a stopped clock, and all that...
LOL! Reuters is admitting this??? Wow that must have been painful! Reuters sucks.
Actually, it’s a press release from Richard, carried by Rueters.
Yeppers...didn't have to happen GOP. We were yelling, screaming and shouting at you but you ignored and dismissed us conservatives. So we will return the favor! Your RINO days are numbered GOP. Now move over and get out of the way because the Conservative Express is rolling on in!
People are starting to realize the George W. Bush was also a RINO.
Time to turn out RINO cowards in the House and Senate. Being moderate has never helped liberal Repubicrat incumbents to beat off dead voters in PA, NJ, NY, RI, MA, etc.
Bush was handed a Republican-controlled House and Senate, and he WASTED IT AWAY in 2006 and 2008, with a horrendous mismanagement of the war and initiating and promoting the BAILOUT-MANIA.
What do you mean he wasted it away? He passed No Child Left Behind and walked away from School Choice. He gave another unfunded mandate in terms of Free Pharmaceuticals for Seniors, without paying for it. He gave billions to cure AIDs in Africa , which the African-Americans in this country really were grateful for, not. He was big against the death tax, but how about helping Joe Sixpack and the work tax?
He saved Chrysler and GM and turned them into government owned entities. And he was tough on Iraq when he should have been tough on Iran. And he handed us a recession to boot. When I see George W. Bush’s face, one word comes to mind: “feckless”.
Some of us folks knew that long ago...
I think that in 2006, President Bush was facing a DEMOCRAT House and Senate....and a fighting a liberal press that was out to destroy him....right????
Yes, we (Republicans) did NOT hold together and fight....so we must remember those actions and not repeat them.
I am so looking forward to 2010.........
All RINOS’s must be exposed for what they really are.
Corrupt infiltrator vermin that do not have the courage to admit that they are Democrat socialist traitors. Newt.
Now Now Now...
You are not giving Bush full credit.

I wondered how long it would take until some of you turned up to trash Viguerie. Not long, I see. He hasn’t changed. This is what he’s been saying for a long time. After all this time, you and others who can’t stand him because he doesn’t go with the flow of the Republican elites and rubber stamp the party because they aren’t Democrats, find yourself in agreement with him FINALLY. LOL!
I have been a registered Republican since I voted for Ronald Reagan in 1980. Since then, I have voted straight Republican ticket, although sometimes I have had to “hold my nose”. Lately though, with all the RINO’s, turncoats, and synchophants, it is becoming more and more difficult to remain loyal to a “party” and be a true conservative. I feel like Ol’ Ronnie himself when he said “I didn’t leave the (democrat) Party, it left ME”
I HAVE to follow my heart and my brain on this. If a true conservative runs against a RINO, I MUST vote for the conservative.
You are not alone. I have been a member for a while. I can remember posters here years ago always saying hold your nose and vote GOP.
Things have changed. That won’t work anymore.
God bless the folks working hard for Doug Hoffman and for other conservatives such as Marco Rubio.
Rubio ROCKS!!!!!!!
Also Col Alan West, who, although running as a Republican, gets zero support from the RPOF. It’s ALL grass roots!
That's a good point and thanks for pointing it out.
Nonetheless, younger Freepers may not be familiar with Mr. Viguerie. He was the Karl Rove of the sixties and seventies who recognized early on that conservatives were the heart of the GOP and marshaled the technology of the time -- targeted mailing lists -- to get out their contributions and, just as importantly, their vote.
Using the Internet is only building on what he developed and we're smart to listen to him. I didn't even know he was still alive -- but I'm glad he is.
