Whiner in chief -- Obama blames Bush for every ill
The Washington Times ^ | November 1, 2009 | Jeffrey T. Kuhner

President Obama is degrading the Oval Office. In recent months, his administration has engaged in puerile, partisan attacks on his predecessor, former President George W. Bush. Nearly every problem in America - the economy, health care, financial regulatory reform, Afghanistan, Iraq and Guantanamo - is being blamed on Mr. Bush.

For example, White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel recently hinted on CNN that Mr. Obama's indecision regarding sending more troops to Afghanistan was caused by his predecessor's inept policies. "It's clear that basically we had a war for eight years that was going on, that's adrift," Mr. Emanuel said. "That we're beginning at scratch, and just from the starting point, after eight years."

The same perverse logic applies to the protracted recession. "I don't mind cleaning up the mess that some other folks made," Mr. Obama said at a fundraiser last week. "That's what I signed up to do. But while I'm there mopping the floor, I don't want somebody standing there saying, 'You're not mopping fast enough.' "

He better get used to it. That's all they said about President Bush after Katrina, that he wasn't fixing things fast enough....

Too funny!

Bush never blamed his problems on Clinton. He rolled up his sleeves and got to work.

Zero on the other hand has never worked a day in his life. He has done nothing but destroy this economy, screw up our war on terror, and continue to blame President Bush for anything that comes along.

What a weenie.

It’s been a year since this incompetent loser was elected President. The “I’m new on the job” excuse ain’t working anymore. They are all Obama’s mistakes now.

It's still early... I working up to my second cup of coffee.

And yes... I forgot to change my clock. At least I'll have plenty of time to get to morning Mass.

I’m highly amused by the Dems description of the financial crisis as the worst since the Great Depression. It wasn’t quite that bad, and when the Great Spreader took over, unemployment was still under eight percent. Now it is approaching ten percent and will top that. The implementation of free-market economics would have eased the crisis. Every elementary economics student, at least the ones studying Friedman and Von Mises, knows that. However when you have a quasi-Marxist in the Oval Office who hates businessmen, corporations, and low taxes, things are going to get much worse.

Yankee, the wife and I are thinking of going to Eagle River in late January for a snowmobiing trip.
Any info you can give on that area of Wisconsin?
Is it worth the time?
It is either between there or Maine.
Thanks.

Only a serious narcissist thinks he gets to control the nature of other people's criticism!

The other day Obama welcomed people with AIDS to this country and then stated that Mr. Bush had been wanting to do the same thing.

Beautiful area. Lots of forests and frozen lakes. Plenty of accomodations available.

Hard to predict snowfall. Two years ago the snowfall was perfect for snowmobiling. Last year not as good, but still workable for snowmobile outings.

At this point they are calling for much snow and above average temps. Beautiful area though. The roads are well kept and the lodging is nice.

One of the best restaurants in the area is called The Chanticleer Inn. A pleasant resort complex that includes a motel, suites, cottages, villas and condominiums, as well as one of the best restaurants in the area. It is on a snowmobile trail. The inn has been run by the same family since 1951. Chicken Kiev, served daily, is a specialty of the house, along with great prime rib.

Two other notable restaurants in the area include The Copper Kettle, which has a wide variety in the menu, and Mueller's Old Stag Restaurant. Muellers is an historic building that has tempting Old World German entres, featuring Bohemian-style roast duck with red cabbage and spaetzel; Birch Forest Schnitzel with German fried potatoes and red cabbage; sauerbraten; beef rouleden; smoked pork chops with saurkraut; lamb shank; and pork shank with kraut. Lots of wonderful deserts as well.

Hope this helps.

Regards!

Jay

If he really cared about fixing the economy, he would have stimulated new jobs, instead of paying off special interest groups with Porkulus.

NY, if you don’t work for the Tourist Commission or the Chamber of Commerce, you should! Your descriptions made me want to check it out and I’ve only seen snow five times in my life!
