Other than your weak argument against what is basic truth and simple common sense, I don't disagree with much of what you said.
I very much doubt that this can lead to national support for Rudy as a conservative. There aren't that many fools out there who still think Rudy is a conservative. (I don't know a single one).
So did McCain. Remember when he said he'd chase Bin Laden to the gates of Hell? Both lost on the national scene and it wasn't due to their stance on defense. I can't tell the good people of AZ and NY which candidates to pick, but I don't want anything to do with either....or Mitt....as national executive candidates.
Methinks you've become delusional. I didn't know that. Sorry I bothered you.
What would be his motive in backing the suddenly popular, more conservative choice so late in the game? Gee....I can't imagine.
Simple. True. Common sense.
....and Giuliani is not one....then what you said at the end.
No one is saying that Rudy is a conservative. There's no reason to restate the same argument multiple times. It was not in dispute in the first place, ergo does not further your cause....whatever that might be.
Nice talking with you, ed. (I think).
Your point, and rightly so, is that a Hoffman victory advances conservatism.
Mine is that Giuliani is not one. You seem to agree. I just don't see how someone who is not a conservative....when "everyone" knows it.....can advance it with their endorsment.
Unless they have another reason for doing so. That's all.
Nice talking to you.
....is the fact Rudy has an ulterior motive for his endorsement. Politicians always do.
Look you don’t have to agree with everything a person stands for in order to back them.
Giuliani was a good Mayor financial mayor and keep law and order a city you could walk through with out the drive by shooting and clean public places which before him NYC was grimmy.
He is not a Marxist nor wants to live under such a government.
But all voters are not conservatives (I doubt you've missed that). There are going to be liberal Republicans swayed by his endorsement, as well as "moderates" (whatever that is), and independents, and probably a few conservative democrats.
We don't want only conservatives to vote, do we? Even though we are 40% of the population, if we don't even want to have others vote for our candidates, then we lose every time.
The whole idea of "conservative ascendancy" is to get the moderates and liberals to vote with US, and not the other way around.
Right??
That's what's happening here. It's GOOD.
New tagline...
It’s a legitimate question, but I don’t think any Republican could have won last year. The voters were sick to death of George W. Bush and took it out on Republicans across the board. In addition, the MSM acted as the Obama Campaign’s cheerleading squad.
He is not a Marxist nor wants to live under such a government.
Yet, Rudy has the same murky, indiscernible, fluid stance on abortion and the 2nd Amendment as the current crowd. I guess we shouldn't be suprised if he endorses their policies on those issues in the future.
I don’t understand those who want everyone to be rubber stand with their way or the high way!
Look if the man supports holding on this to country I appreciate it.
If he believes things I disagree with he has that right as an American.
When this country is preserved I only asked no way can one run for office who wants to over throw the US Constitution.
People can hold all the thoughts and beliefs they want it is called free agency just don’t act on them if they are contrary to the Lord’s will.
But the success of this country is keeping the Judeo-Christian laws.
Where I think we may not be on the same page is here....
I'm skeptical about the sincerity. My belief is Rudy is doing this to set himself up for a future run, masquerading and riding the tide of those who actually are conservative. If it's as NY governor or senator, there's not much say I have in the matter. Beyond that, I've got an issue.
If Palin is a barracuda, Giuliani is a remora. Know what I mean?
Had to look up what a remora is, but I get your point. :)
Yep. A GOOD thing.
Saracuda eats Scazzofava beans with a nice chianti.
Interesting about Dede announcing for Owens. She probably didn't intend it, but that announcement probably pushed even more support to Doug Hoffman, through negative reactions from the voters. No one (except a Democrat) likes a traitor - no matter what party they represent.
Unintended consequences, you know?
There's no doubt that she's now burned her last bridge to the Republican party with this. She'll re-file as a Democrat in due course, and they will welcome her with hugs all around.
