The perfect world argument is about as weak as it gets. Hoffman will win in spite of Rudy's 11th hour endorsement, not because of it.

My interest here deals less with Hoffman winning. I believe he will. I'm more concerned with Rudy's Johnny-come-lately arrival to the aid of someone who seems to be a true conservative.

If he tries to parlay this support into another national run down the road, I've got a problem with it. He's not a true conservative and shouldn't waste our time masquerading as one.

If he wants to be NYC mayor or NY gov, fine by me. If a future President wants to make him AG, I probably wouldn't object. I wouldn't want him on the SC and I definitely wouldn't want him as the nominee for Prez. We've seen that movie.

My "perfect world" argument isn't weak. It's an assessment of reality.

Other than your weak argument against what is basic truth and simple common sense, I don't disagree with much of what you said.

I very much doubt that this can lead to national support for Rudy as a conservative. There aren't that many fools out there who still think Rudy is a conservative. (I don't know a single one).
