Democrats: Elections Not a Referendum on Obama
U. S. News ^ | November 3, 2009 | Kenneth T. Walsh

Posted on 11/03/2009 12:31:50 PM PST by An Old Man

The Democrats seem to be positioning themselves for two and maybe three big losses in today's off-year elections. Late polls suggest that the Republicans could sweep the gubernatorial races in New Jersey and Virginia and the special congressional election in upstate New York. So Democratic strategists have been downplaying the idea that today's results will be a referendum on President Obama or his policies.

This morning, Brad Woodhouse, communications director for the Democratic National Committee, sent an E-mail to reporters questioning whether the elections should be nationalized by the media. White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters, "I don't think that these elections will portend a lot."

I believe it is Joe Biden who we are voting against, not that nice negro fellow.

LOL!

It's a referendum on Biden.

Yeah, THAT'S the ticket....

I was honestly unaware that US News & World Report is still actively publishing. Who knew? Do they sell magazines are something? I can’t remember seeing one on the racks in years. Is it restricted to NY State or something?

DU is just about starting to get fun.

It's all part of a master plan by Smart Man Barack and the Ballerina. It's no big deal that we are hanging on to a seat we've had since forever and Virginia was set to go Republican....hehehe!

Yes, and it is not just the Traitorous Dems that are next, but also any Republican who voted for Cap & Trade. They either are Traitors or they are “too dumb” to serve in Congress.

I knew it! I knew they’d start saying that when the writing was on the wall. I even said it. Only one more year ‘til the mid-term, so gird your loins, folks. It’s going to be a rough ride, and put nothing past them.

That's right!

Hopefully these "blue dog" democrats will get scared away from Death Care if our candidates win today.

Today is a referendum of what's going on in America, and next November's election is going to be a real day of reckoning for a lot of these nasty democrats.

I hope they get thrown out of office because their policies are dangerous, and they are absolutely destructive to our National Security.

This may not be the beginning of the end, but it is the end of the beginning. W. Churchill

If the GOP follows up on their wins today and starts nominating Conservatives in all these house races coming up, especially in the blue-dog districts, these congress-critters will be afraid of being tied to Obamacare or cap-n-tax. Pelosi is then neutralized.

Democratic strategists would have been saying the exact opposite had the dems swept these elections.

Precisely! And they claimed, non-stop, in 2006 and 2008, that the Republican losses were a repudiation of George W. Bush.
