Prayers for these soldiers who were killed and their families and also for the civilian officer and his family too.

Love to. Pick your average soldier that was in their 20s during the war and was old enough to start a family in the late 40s and 50s during the Baby Boom. Hope that clears it up. I appreciate the sacrifices they made and their stopping of evil but their children spat on what they were given.

He looks like a typical African American.....

Tell me, was it ever revealed if the U.S. military knew he was a Muslim prior to killing our own people?

Obama already pre-empted the house call this morning. I can’t handle watching him again. Shep is in place of Glen. What next marshall law.

So did they, and so did their parents. My Dad is one of the "GG," and he says the GG is errant nonsense. "GG" (and their parents) made FDR possible. Roosevelt was the beginning of the long downward slide. "GG" gave us Kennedy, LBJ and Nixon, and 40 years of Democrat Congresses. You can pick on the Baby Boomers all you want (and that's fine by me) but they learned it from somewhere, and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

My video game warfare comment was referring to today’s perception of what warfare is relative to during WWII. Of course it’s not a video game - and, too many people have that perception today. You don’t need to explain to me how this war is not bloodless - my son spent 18 months there (and five other family members also had boots in the sand in Iraq). My son participated in missions in which live-fire was exchanged, and twice had his vehicle nearly hit by an IED (witnessing on one mission a Humvee being blown up two vehicles ahead of his that had two of his friends in it).

You are correct - war is about will. We need to have the will to stay the course in this war - the enemy has the will - any capitulation on our part will be viewed as a weakness and will encourage further attacks. We won WWII because we had the will to fight and stay the course to achieve victory no matter what the cost was. I’m not sure the courage of that era still exists in this country.

So which generation is that? There is no such classification as the “greatest generation”, there is not even a range of birth dates given for such a thing.

Actually, it was the grandchildren of the Greatest Generation which spit on what their parents gave them - that would be my generation, I’m sad to say.

If you mean boomers then you are talking about 9.4 million members of the military.

It is not unusual for those who decide to become mental health professionals to be people who have had mental health issues themselves.

I understand...it's like nurses, doctors and drugs....

Firemen and arson....

Okay, let’s see if I have this right. There were three shooters. Presumably they acted in concert? Of the three, one was killed, and one is a black Muslim convert, right? And what do we know about the other two? Black? Muslims?
