"We are not to question Sharia."

*************

And there you have it, folks! There you have Islam's Curse, in six little words!

Islam will NEVER have a "Reformation" that will bring it into the modern age, like the one that shook Christianity. There will NEVER be a Muslim equivalent to Martin Luther, nailing his list of grievances to the church (mosque) door.

Islam is vehement (and violent) about its infallibility and utterly unwilling to hear even the hint of anything new. The sharia laws that applied to Muslims centuries ago remain inviolable and unchanging, even in our modern era. Really now, amputation for theft? Stoning? Come on!

Every syllable of the Koran is written in stone because it is THE WORD OF GOD, don't you know! Of course, how those words got onto the page without (a) human intermediaries or (b) God picking up a quill and ink, have never been explained adequately to me. And they never will.

Islam's refusal to greet the 21st Century will (one may hope) be its downfall. Intelligent people see through the violence and the madness and they want something more appropriate. Islam, as they learn eventually, ain't it.

Then we need to reform it for them. And frankly, if the end result of that reformation is that there is no more islam, that works for me.
