The Victims of Fort Hood

Part of being the family member of a soldier is the knowledge that when your loved one deploys overseas, you may never see them whole again. Some soldiers come back without visible wounds but with shattered minds. Some return with bodies wrecked by the savage machinery of war. Some don’t come back at all.

It is a risk that soldiers are willing to take in order to serve and protect their nation and a risk that the families also begrudgingly accept. That doesn’t make it any easier when the message is delivered that changes their world forever.

One of the more brief but powerful scenes at the beginning of 1998’s Saving Private Ryan is when Mrs. Ryan sees a government car slowly approaching her home. She walks out onto her front porch, only to slowly collapse into sobs when she realizes that the unexpected arrival heralds the death of her sons. There are no words in that scene. Some feelings are simply beyond words.

On Thursday afternoon, family members of real soldiers experienced the crushing sense of loss and isolation when they learned that their loved ones were inexplicably cut down on base.

Not in Iraq or Afghanistan, but in Texas.

Such things should not happen.....

This Ft. Hood affair is sickenly tragic-should not have been allowed to happen. It’s time real Americans took this country back from the Reid’s, Pelosi’s, and, most of all, the Obama’s.

The murderer was a traitor and may have been perfectly sane.

May God rest and protect the relatives and loved ones of those slain.

Jihadis are driven by ideology. We’re good at dealing with them militarily. We haven’t been good at dealing with the ideology that drives them and creates them. We haven’t been willing even to admit that there is an ideology at the heart of this.

It takes willful blindness not to see that a guy like the major was a trainwreck waiting to happen, and that he had no business being in uniform.

To take it one step further, it takes willful blindness not to see that post-911, people who hold to the ideology that drives this kind of madness should not be allowed to immigrate into the United States.

And the religion needs to be wiped out. That is the only answer. But we’re afraid to even offend them. We keep sending troops back over and over again simply to attempt to stay even. If we’re not willing to use the power we have while we still have it, we’ll never win this “war”. It’s like a plague. Destroy it all or it will be back.

All of this has nothing to do with this creep in Ft. Hood except he nor his family nor his “brothers” would be on the face of this earth if we would do what we know we must do.

This jihad style crap is how arabs deal with each other. An eye for an eye.

Vendettas back and forth. Generation to generation to generation.

So this killer was comforted his family would probably go unharmed here in America, unlike the medeival lands they came from.
