Sounds like the FBI might want to keep a closer watch on his brothers than they did on him.

If this berserker run amok was NOT a terrorist, then something is seriously wrong with the definition.
“Going berserk”
This fury, which was called “berserkergang” in the original Old Norse, occurred not only in the heat of battle, but also during laborious work. Men who were thus seized performed things which otherwise seemed impossible for human power. This condition is said to have begun with shivering, chattering of the teeth, and chill in the body, and then the face swelled and changed its colour. With this was connected a great hot-headedness, which at last gave over into a great rage, under which they howled as wild animals, bit the edge of their shields, and cut down everything they met without discriminating between friend or foe. When this condition ceased, a great dulling of the mind and feebleness followed, which could last for one or several days.
Which pretty well describes the state of mind of these “Instant Jihad” maniacs. A transformation not unlike that of the “Incredible Hulk”.

Actually, based on what we know so far, I would not classify him as a terrorist, in the sense of being a jihadi linked to others. He was saying things a lot of lefties also say but the problem is he's supposed to be serving the Army, not America's enemies. I think he got caught in a long service commitment for all the education the Army paid for and then found himself in the post 9-11 Army agreeing with the people the Army was fighting. It also appears he turned to radical Islam to try to square the contradictions in his life.
The guy according to reports was confrontational, antagonistic to colleagues, tried to proselytize and said some pretty disturbing things. He was obviously unfit for duty and something should have been done about it.

Would they feel the same if some Muslim entered NPR headquarters and shot the place up? Lots of Jews work at NPR...

I cringe when I see her picture on the Internet. She is now the enemy of Islam and her life is in danger. Salmon Rushdie would argue that posting her picture is not a really great idea. Unless, you want her dead...

If he was so religious, why was he an alky? Muslims are not ALLOWED to drink!

Sort of like saying a person who owns his own business is not a capitalist because he doesn't belong to a giant corporation.

Don’t know why people don’t want to call a terrorist a terrorist unless they belong to a terrorist network. Freelance terrorism is just as terror causing, and much harder to predict and plan against...and probably, at least in our country, happens more often.
Terrorist should be defined as a person who uses acts of violence to terrorize others, perhaps to prevent them from action, perhaps for a cause, perhaps cause they had a bad hair day and hate the world. Terrorism is the use of violence to terrorize and let the world know you’re not powerless.
Freelance or part of a formal group, it’s still what it is.

Must be my Swedish and Finnish heritage. ;-)
I know some will be skeptical but this description sounds like demon-possession. I believe that many of the jihadists are demon-possessed and all jihadists are influenced by demonic teachings.

How’s that hate crime legislation feeling right about now.
