Iran Refuses To Send Enriched Uranium Abroad
by Jay Deshmukh
TEHRAN (AFP) Iran is refusing to send its low-enriched uranium abroad for further processing, the influential head of parliament's national security and foreign policy committee was quoted as saying on Saturday. "We do not want to give part of our 1,200 kilos of enriched uranium in order to receive fuel of 20 percent enrichment," Alaeddin Borujerdi told the ISNA news agency.
"This option of giving our enriched uranium gradually or in one go is over now. We are studying how to procure fuel and (Ali Asghar) Soltanieh is negotiating to find a solution," he said of Iran's envoy to the UN atomic watchdog.
Last month, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) chief Mohamed ElBaradei brokered a deal between Iran, France, Russia and the United States to supply much-needed uranium to a research reactor in Tehran.
But while Moscow, Paris and Washington all quickly approved the plans, Tehran said it wanted amendments and further talks. Under ElBaradei's proposal, Iran would ship out most of its known low-enriched uranium to Russia for further enrichment. The material would t
hen be turned into fuel for the Tehran research reactor by France. On Friday Iran said it is preparing to give more details on its response to the international proposals for supplying nuclear fuel and expects more negotiations, even as Washington warned the time for talking is over.

This is not suprising.
A Look at Iran

I have never understood why we negotiate so much with people who have sworn to be our enemies. When George reached Baghdad, I really thought he would hang a right and take care of base 2 of the axis of evil.
Honestly, what would happen if a US president flatly stated that Tehran had three days to allow inspectors carte blanche, and if it were denied every reactor, military base, and political building in the country would be obliterated one by one. Then we followed through with the threat.
Likewise, why deal with the Israel/Palistine issue with such kid gloves. I would love to see a president meet with both leaders, then in the smiling press conference afterwards give a huge surprise. Come out and state that as of this moment the US was 100% neutral in the conflict. However, we would take sides against which ever side chose to attack from this point on. If one tank entered Gaza we would see it as an act of war an defend the palistinians. However, if a single suicide bomber blew up a dance hall, we would encourage Israel to react with extreme prejudice to end the issue once and for all. I think everyone knows which side we would end up on.
In any case make it clear before the bombing started that we would try to avoid civilian targets but that bombs are pretty indiscriminate about who dies. The blame for civilian dead would fall squarely on the shoulders of the middle east governments.
Sure, the rest of the world would scream and cry that we were draconian, but what would they really do? Nothing. Before the war in Iraq began I was in Brazil and people complained that it was clear we were about to invade. I flatly told them they were cowards. If they truly believed that Iraq should not be invaded, they should be asking their government to send troops to protect Iraq from the American invaders. I was still there when Russia invaded Chechnia. I asked the same people why they were not complaining and protesting the Russian invasion. They had no real answer, they just tried to change the subject back to Iraq.
Anyway, I’m back off my soap box. Sorry about the rant. I feel better.
Well, Obama has yet to apologize properly for the inconveniences caused by the Americans hostages in 1979.
That's awesome.
You rock.

Ping.
ALERT: More Serious Warnings From Obama!
This is going in their permanent record.
