George W. Bush makes secret visit to mourning families at Fort Hood(real leadership)

Last night former President George W. Bush and his wife Laura made a secret visit to the devastated military families at Fort Hood.

The Bushes instructed the commander of the mourning military base that they wanted no publicity. With their Secret Service detail, Bush and his wife made the 30 mile trip unannounced from their ranch near Crawford, Texas Friday evening.

Fox News broke news of the visit this afternoon. Other sources said the former first couple spent about two hours meeting with the wounded, family and soldiers, talking quietly and at times hugging them as they did in private at other times of crisis such as post-9/11.

Most presidents come to feel a genuine respect and affection for the people they lead as commander-in-chief and sometimes the affection is reciprocated.

Many base workers and residents on Fort Hood are still reeling from the shooting this week by Major Nidal Malik Hasan that killed 13 people and wounded dozens of others. (See video below.)

The White House announced today the Obamas plan to attend a memorial service there on Tuesday. Some foreign news reporters have begun to write unflattering comparisons of the emotional Bush vs the ever-cool, possibly cold Obama.

Bush needs to be ready for many more months of bashing by Obama. Ten to one, Obama believes the Bush visit was done solely to make him and Michelle look bad. (It is obvious that Obama thinks everything revolves around him, you see. Empathy is a concept foreign to him.) Obama will be out for revenge.

"Some foreign news reporters have begun to write unflattering comparisons of the emotional Bush vs the ever-cool, possibly cold Obama."

Obama's inability to demonstrate the emotion of empathy in any real or tangible way, is a troubling sign. He does, however, frequently demonstrate the signs of narcissistic personality disorder, and I believe occasional manic episodes. Was he ever asked the questions if he had previously been treated for depression? Has he ever fully released his medical information?

If Obama was a Republican, every shrink in America would be going out of their way to describe Obama's personality flaws. At least the foreign press seems to be taking some of their blinders off, hopefully the US press will soon to follow.

It is a great relief that a President was able to show the proper respect to these people.

Unlike Obama, who's first instinct is to give us a lecture about how we should not jump to conclusions as if we are all idiots.

And even though no one on TV jumped to any conclusions.

No one on radio jumped to any conclusions.

No one in the police jumped to any conclusions.

No one in the Military jumped to any conclusions.

No one in the government jumped to any conclusions.

The only person who jumped to a conclusion was the arrogant Obama talking down to us that were jumping to conclusions.

Obama will never miss an opportunity to insult Americans, because he hates us.

"Maybe Mr Obama had been reading the American press, much of which somehow contrived to present the atrocity as a result of combat stress due to soldiers going on repeated war deployments "

There was a clinical psychologist on CNN (of all places) last night that said the idea that this guy was suffering from PTSD was ridiculous. He explained that you can't get PTSD - IN ANY WAY - from reading about a tragic event, or talking about a tragic event or listening to thousands of men tell stories about tragic events. It's impossible.

Then, the anchor - some moron named Lemon - asked about the possibility that Hasan was suffering from second-tier PTSD. The psychologist immediately discounted the idea of such a disorder, and said such a diagnosis would be controversial, at best.

He then went on to criticize the Army and wondered aloud how the Army could place this guy on a base like Ft. Hood, and in a position to counsel anyone, let alone combat veterans who may really need sound advice.

We can even use obama as a noun and a verb. Such as in:

“That tornado was a real obama. All of Jefferson was destroyed”.

and

“My car got obama’d today by large hailstones”.

I always spell it with a "Ø" (a "zero"...)

(For anyone who might want to follow suit,

&[Capital"O"]slash;

is the HTML code for "Ø".) Don't forget the ";" (semicolon)...

Ditto. I have a lot of issues with his presidency, but not one with this man of honor, when it comes to setting the example of class.

Agreed.

I’m sure President Bush and Laura’s visit comforted the families considerably. It was a nice gesture, and he certainly speaks for me when he does things like this. I only wish I could have gone along too.

Obama has shot his mouth off to the point that I honestly hope he doesn’t try to comfort the families. He still hasn’t okayed the sending of more troops to the battle he and his fellow travelers were saying was the only justified battle for over five years.

This man doesn’t give a rat’s ass about our troops and their safety.

The sooner he is gone from office, the sooner we can fumigate and scrub the place with Socialist eradicator, Marx-be-gone, and Com-zot. Then we can put a nice anti-Fascist sealer ever what’s left.

Just like his first Thanksgiving in Iraq. Low-key. Press didn’t even know where they were going, and the soldiers only knew that a high-level official was going to be present for dinner.

In 4 years we’ll be lucky to still have a free America. Look at the damage he’s already managed to inflict in less than 1 year. he hasn’t even gotten cranked up good yet. The longer he’s there, and the longer he’s surrounded by yesmen, a sycophantic media, and insulated in his bubble, the more blatant he will become in digging us into socialism and anti-white, anti-Christian culture climate. The more he does, the more he’s able to do. He sees that he gets away with it, and gets bolder.

God knows it would be luck, because as much as this nation has turned its back on God, it won’t be Providence. We sure don’t have anything good coming from The Almighty, quite the opposite.

I’m sure Obama will do something similar, if he hasn’t already. I imagine he could spare several hours to console the family of Hasan and comfort them as they worry that their loved one might face criminal charges over his brave actions fighting for Obama’s people.

Which begs the eternal question, why are libs good at what they do and conservatives aren’t?
