The President's Visitors List
Economic Policy Journal ^ | 11/8/09 | Robert Wenzel

Bill O'Reily reports on the Top Visitors to the White House. The head of a union with ties to ACORN head tops the list:

THE White House released last week a partial list of visitors since Jan. 20. It is fascinating and highlights what kind of house the Obamas are running.

Topping the visitor chart is Andy Stern, president of the Service Employees International Union, who has been received there 22 times...

Kim Gandy, president of the National Organization for Women, clocks in with 14 visits. This has to be a Michelle Obama play. I know the president is a sensitive guy, but hanging around with Gandy that much is incomprehensible, unless she plays basketball, which I believe she does not.

John Podesta has visited 17 times. He used to advise President Bill Clinton and now runs some wacky liberal organization that specializes in vile personal attacks against conservatives. Podesta is one mean motor scooter. I hope he’s not scaring the Obama kids.

Having six visits was the Rev. Jesse Jackson. The Obamas seem to like him better than the Rev. Al Sharpton, who’s visited the White House twice.

Sen. Edward M. Kennedy chalked up seven visits. You have to assume it was about health care. He was a prime backer of health care reform, which is shaping up as an absolute disaster.

General Electric CEO Jeffrey Immelt went to the White House five times. NBC, owned by GE, has been extremely generous to Obama, and now GE wants government contracts for environmental work. This has the appearance of a quid-pro-quo. I hope NBC investigative reporter Lisa Myers looks into it.

Financier George Soros showed up four times....

Former Vice President Al Gore must miss the White House. He’s been back four times since Jan. 20.

Finally, Oprah Winfrey has visited twice. She is basically responsible for Obama’s fame, and now she is being warmly received... It should be noted that Soros is writing a check for $50 million to start a new anti-free market think tank.

I think the SEIU and NOW visits are all related to getting a "crowd" out to support the health care takeover.

Who was used to counter the massive turnout at townhalls over the summer? People in purple shirts that are in low paying jobs.

Obama couldn't get the UAW out in support of healthcare reform because they don't want it. They have good health insurance.
