I suspect that Pelosi counted the votes and let a lot of the Blue Dogs vote no. They need to be thrown out anyway, because if push came to shove, they would have caved.
We have many rich targets for next year, not just the Blue Dogs. There are many RATS who will be in the fight of their political lives with 10% + unemployment.
Did anyone bother to pay attention to the recorded vote on the GOP motion to recommit? The GOP strategy was excellent. They forced a recorded vote to restore Medicare cuts by demanding tort reform. The RATS voted it down, thereby choosing trial lawyers over seniors. Anybody imagine how good those TV ads will be?

I’m pretty sure that’s what happened to a couple in GA. We speculated that this would be the plan a couple of months ago.
