Last Tuesdays election in Virginia has been reported by some as a vote of no confidence in the Obama administration. Maybe it was but a closer look indicates that seven of the nine incumbents who lost were caught flat footed on gun rights.
. . .
Philip Van Cleave, President of the Virginia Citizens Defense League, Inc. feels that "the results show that this election was open season on anti-gun incumbents. The antis have lost at least five reliable anti-gun votes in the already pro-gun House of Delegates, and their perennial bill to restrict private firearm sales at gun shows has now assumed room temperature and is already developing rigor mortis."

Bummer. It looks like the Dems are finally getting to the RUT of the problem (as Jocelyn Elders would say).
I’d rather have them in the dark...and losing.
Well, I agree that was a problem - but not the major problem. This whole administration of Democrats is scaring most of America with their leftist policies (Go Polosi - heh). Gun issues are just one of the issues that they can’t understand...actually a good thing - they do seem to be tone deaf on so many other issues though.
And, actually, the Dems know just how radioactive the gun issue is and will not get anywhere near it, until they have the rest of their agenda imposed on us.
The had a chance in 2007 with the Virgina shooting to tighten things up with guns, and Pelosi essentially said: “no way”, we’ve got bigger fish to fry.
The real question for Democrats now is how are they going to get our guns prior to the economy totally collapsing? If they don’t make a move next year, they will have an even more gun-friendly Congress to deal with in 2011.
So what if gun rights are better protected (for now). I understand guns are very important, but they are a method of last resort. In a way, guns are like owning nukes. We might need them and could use them, but we’re better off if we don’t. In other words, having guns is hardly comforting when measured against the power grab going on in Washington DC.
Well, Hussein is definitely making gun rights front and center in elections.
Absolutely agree! This is one area that they do seem to want to control - but they are know that it will create chaos.
Comments are right on!
Watch A. G. Eric Holder. When he moves on gun control, it is important. Right now they are trying an end-run by using the Center for Disease Control to declare gun control a national health issue.
Since they couldn’t supply us with H1V1 vaccine like they promised, don’t put a lot of faith in the CDC now that it has been contaminated by the Obama reds and politicized like never before.
Gun control is hitting your target with the first shot. Otherwise, you are a dead man.
If that happens, we will need our guns more than ever. On the other hand, a full scale gun grag by the Obamanators, could cause "lead" poisoning in many a gun grabber. I just don't think people are going to tolerate it.
Yes, some of us want desperately to avoid violence, but all of our governments, legislators, and law enforcement units (including the bottom “unit,” the one in the White House) need to know that if they try to take our guns, they’ll first get a bullet, and another and another until one side or the other runs out of people.
I most especially want not to fire on Secret Service protectors, but I can see their few thousands trying to stand against our tens of millions. How to avoid that?
I wish I could say I know how, but I don't.

Yea, and it would be interesting to see how state governments respond, especially like here in Texas...
I wish you could, too, but wishing has never done much for me. We need a person who can convince the protectors that allegiance to the Constitution trumps allegiance to BHO. Know anyone?
