How's Tipton? My hope is we unite behind a good candidate instead of everyone slicing each other up in a big primary like happened before. He's one district over from me; but I've spoken with him (a few days ago here in Grand Junction) and gotten some help from his office a few months ago on some other legislative matters. He seems pretty solid and all the Republicans I know here in Mesa County are hoping he'll announce. West Slope Republicans are generally "real" Republicans--not like a lot of the RINOs on the Denver side.
I believe he ran against Salazar once before but ran out of money and was unable to counter false, last-minute attack ads from the opposition.

Surely the party will come through with funding this time. We held that seat for a long time with McInnis and it'd be great to take it back next year.
