I will indeed give a progress report. Surgery is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. I will receive a call from my wife when she’s out of surgery.

Indeed they were! I went to a reunion of my old company back in '96 and we went to the Friday Evening Parade at 8th & I, Marine Barracks, Washington. A Marine from 1/5 received his Silver Star from the relief of Hue City 28 years after the fact. The Deputy Commandant of the Corps speaking that night said that the the Corps regarded the actions of Marines in Vietnam as among the greatest moments in the Corps' distinguished history. That's the night I came home.

Prayers. Lord, we know that you have special love for the little ones. So if you please, keep watch over SoldierDad’s grandbaby during her surgery. Keep the surgeon’s hand steady and his eye keen. Place a space of peace around her family as they wait. We thank you Sweet Jesus, and we pray in your name. Amen.

A typical Monday...:)
A late/dark commute home.
WooHoo! Snow!:)
The roads were good? Everyone on the roads behaving?
To: ConorMacNessa
It’s a shame that it took so long for them to get the recognition that they deserve! The Vietnam era was shameful in it’s disregard of the bravery shown over there!

Isn’t it just such a mystery? He hasn’t even looked at those tags for 50 years. How can it be explained that they ended up not only out of his possession, but in a place we actually never heard of? We don’t even have a guess.
