Thank you for the welcome, Kathy. I will pass on your thanks to my son. He was in for four, has been out for three.

RA is no longer on FR. I don’t know if it was by choice or not, but I remember a short conversation some time last year about his having stopped posting.

Kathy,

Unfortunately my editing is on back burner right now — my brother passed away & I have to soon sit shiva, the 7-day mourning period.

I’ll probably be out of commission till next Wednesday, so until then I wish you & all FReepers well.

Dear SoldierDad,

Little Madison is fighter. The little ones are so special and brave. I will keep my fingers crossed for Tiffany, Robert and the two little ones. It must be so very stressful for Robert...

Special prayers for SoldierDad and all his angels.

Thank you - Tiffany and Robert when to the doctor - they did a 3D ultrasound of the babies. They sent my wife a picture text to her phone. She’ll forward the pics to me and I plan to post them on FR. I’ll ping you. The boys are 1 pound 11 oz and 1 pound 12 oz respectively. I don’t know how the doctors are able to tell that.

Thank you Tas. Oh, by the way. Liberty and Freedom’s hair has grown back on those spots. I just need some help with teaching them manners - they like to jump up on us and taking them for walks is a chore - we are more tired out than they are when we get home.

Glad to hear the fur faces are furry again.

Re: manners.. Don’t reward bad behavior. Only give them attention when they are behaving.

I can’t walk both of mine at the same time.. Even though they are generally well behaved they get some kind of competition thing going on and don’t always listen to me.

Try a Halti for walking. Halti was the only way I could break Solly of ‘charging’..She was like trying to walk a bull..

We’ll work on ignoring them when they are acting incorrectly. I did buy a gentle leader and try it, but I don’t think I was working it correctly. The halti looks different, though similar to the gentle leader (more robust). I’ll see if I can find one and give that a try. Walking Liberty is like trying to walk a bull also. Freedom starts out trying to lunge ahead, but after a short while will walk beside me.

Patience and persistence.

You have to correct them every time they screw up in order not to confuse them.

You need to have enough play in the lead to be able to snap pop the leash.

The correcting every time might be problematic as I’m only home on weekends now. The rest of the family will have to tighten up on the discipline when I’m not at home. Snap-pop, huh? Gives them a start I would imagine.
