Rep. Lynn Woolsey, a California Democrat dismayed by the House vote over the weekend to prohibit taxpayer subsidies for insurance policies that cover abortion in the healthcare overhaul, is saying maybe the IRS should investigate the tax-exempt status of the Catholic Church following its lobbying effort for the restriction.
“I expect political hardball on any legislation as important as the health care bill,” Woolsey writes in Politico. “I just didn’t expect it from the United States Council of Catholic Bishops … Who elected them to Congress?

Catholics, regardless of any position within the church that they may have, retain the right to freedom of speech whether that speech is conveyed individually or under any group banner.

As Exhibit A, I offer the IRS aggression against conservative churches during the Klintoon years. The IRS threatened loss of 501-3c status for churches that passed out voter guides, which did NOT support one candidate over the other, mind you, but just showed their voting records and policy positions.
Meanwhile, Klintoon, Sharptongue, Jackasson, and many other Leftist mouthpieces, were all allowed to spew Commie vomit from the pulpits of the liberal churches with no threat whatsoever to the 501-3c status to those churches.

I’ve wasted too much time trying to figure out how this stupid creature keeps getting re-elected. My theory is that southern Sonoma and Marin voters consist of either people living on the edge (government handouts), apathetic uniformed imbeciles, or extremely wealthy liberals who figure they’ve “got theirs” and smugly feel superior enough to want to dictate how the rest of the populace should live.
There are still a few individualists left here, mostly in southern Sonoma. Marin is a lost cause.

Just as a side note, I'm completely stunned that the Anglicans will be welcomed back in the fold. I will be watching intently if the Catholic Church starts to make separate rules for the lukewarm's. The reason Anglicans got in trouble in the first place is liberalism. Like a cancer, they will start to soften their beliefs in sodomite marriage, abortion and whatever else is dedicated to the "Can't we all just get along" category. It may take awhile in coming, but like cancer, it will most likely show itself soon. How can Catholics preach piety and allow Pelosi, Biden, Kerry, and 50 Kennedy's to remain in the Church? Their hypocrisy will be pointed to every time they try to re educate an Anglican.
Just another passing thought, ...What happens when the Episcopalians, Lutherans, et al want to come back in? My bet is some amalgamation of mushy dogma that would accept a Hindu going to heaven without Jesus. At some point, you are either a Catholic or you need to figure out what you are.
