During his appearance at the Senate Democrats' weekly lunch Tuesday, former President Bill Clinton told members of his party not to back down when they're winning the health care debate.
A source close to Clinton said the former president had a simple message for Democrats: Make sure to pass something.
"The point I want to make is, just pass the bill, even if it's not exactly what you want," Clinton said, according to the source. "When you try and fail, the other guys write history."
Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) said Clinton described the ongoing tea party protests against the Democratic agenda as a sign his party was making progress.
Whitehouse quoted Clinton arguing: "The reason the teabaggers are so inflamed is because we are winning." Speaking with reporters outside the event, Clinton framed his case for health care in economic terms: "This is an economic imperative."
"I believe people come to Congress, to places like this, to solve problems," he said, adding that health care reform "strengthens the fabric of the existing health insurance policies."

I’ll say it again. These out of touch politicians do not know what the vulgar term “Teabagging” means. I am not convinced all of the media knows.
This vulgarity is becoming main stream. I would hope they would be embarrassed when they finally get around to finding out.
Someone should have asked Bill, “Mr. Clinton, did you Teabag Ms. Lewinsky?”
Then maybe he and some others would get the message about how classless this term is.

If someone calls me or someone else a “teabagger” I say “Oh, you must be a Barney Franker!” When they don’t know how to take that I explain that the phrase describes those that are very liberal and self important. The phrase Also has a bit of deviant sexual behavior associated with it, so that’s a pretty good parallel.

This has got to be one of the STUPIDEST statements, no concern for costs, implementation and outcome just looks good in history. What a blithering idiot.

They must be made accountable for use of this term. We either have to co-opt the icky meaning and own it or we have to be highly offended and demand apologies for bringing such lingo into common parlance. As it is they are getting away with it at the top levels (Obama and Clinton have now used it). They need to own up and admit they are using it with intent..or they need to be “informed” of that other meaning so they can stop “inadvertently and unknowingly” (ha) using it. The left have used language to own the field going all the way back to s/he, etc. Language definitely matters.
Time to call your local station with an obscenity complaint every time they broadcast someone saying “teabagger”. And FCC, if it’s not cable.

Bill is projecting. I’m sure he know all about inflamed teabags and sees his doctor about it on a regular basis. If he wants to lead all his lemming lefty friends off of a cliff, that’s fine by me. And if he’s trying to upstage Obama the same way Carter upstaged him when he was occupying the oval office, that works for me too.
