‘Oh what a night Nov. 2, 2010, could become’
Not could become, WILL become.
Perhaps she prays to Satan.
“Pelosi, attired in a regal red dress,”
Perfect for the Head Ho.
We need to change the Red States label to something else. Any suggestions? I propose green for GO and to confuse the environmentalists.
Except we can't repeal the healthcare if it's passed. President Hussein will veto it for sure.
Nope, not now, not this time. They f-ed with the wrong people, and they wrongly assumed that we’d all rolled over and played dead.
The sleeping giant has been awoken, and he’s PISSED.
New tagline...
media-assigned color of Republicans
No kidding! How the hell did red come to rep Republican???
Same as how dod GAY come to represent queers???
Repubs are neither RED nor or queers GAY.
Be very interesting to find out when the RED thing got started and by whom.
Actually, “Red” represented the party out of power at the time, and Blue was the party in power.
In 2000, Republicans were “red” because they were out of power.
However, because of all the ruckus and the creation of the concept of red and blue states, red stuck with the republicans.
We should have been blue since 2000, but it was permanantly set that way.
My understanding is that there was an intention to flip the color every 4 years to be fair about it. But, then something happened at the moment that red was assigned to republicans where it was too difficult to keep switching back and forth, and its now assigned forever. Must be one of those statist ratchet things, once ‘rats find a color they like, they keep it now for all time.
While I expect the MSM to mostly revert to type in the upcoming election season, don't forget that they've become increasingly critical of Obama. More and more accurate (and damning) reporting is coming out of the traditionally liberal media every day.
I surmise that they've detected which way the popular winds are blowing, and are a bit nervous about being blown off the precipice with the radical, left-wing Democrats.
I wouldn't exactly bet on them "pulling out all the stops", though I do expect a degree of sympathetic support for Democrats in general from them.
When the MSM brazenly stumped for Obama, they were correctly reading the electoral wind direction. I'd be very surprised if they endangered their shaky standing with the public by enthusiastically backing the losing side of a major power shift in Congress.
"If we find our government in all its branches rushing headlong... into the arms of monarchy, if we find them violating our dearest rights, the trial by jury, the freedom of the press, the freedom of opinion, civil or religious, or opening on our peace of mind or personal safety the sluices of terrorism, if we see them raising standing armies, when the absence of all other danger points to these as the sole objects on which they are to be employed, then indeed let us withdraw and call the nation to its tents. But while our functionaries are wise, and honest, and vigilant, let us move compactly under their guidance, and we have nothing to fear. . . ." --Thomas Jefferson to William Duane, 1811. ME 13:29
Considering this statement, along with Washington's Farewell Address warnings on the dangers of Party, do their words not appear to be prophetic and describing the situation the nation is confronting today?
How could Jefferson envision "our government . . . rushing headlong . . . ." or, "violating our dearest rights, the trial by jury, the freedom of the press, the freedom of opinion, civil or religious, or opening on our peace of mind or personal safety the sluices of terrorism"?
Think about these warnings, and then consider the Founders' many statements about the role of what they called Divine Providence in the founding of America.
Just thoughts to contemplate.
