I have to admit that I don’t get Twitter at all. What’s the point? Why would anyone want to know when someone else is watching TV, petting their cat or clipping their toenails? Are we that bored with our lives?
ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt said it best... “Twitter is the great illuminator of stupidity.”

Twitter can be used for much, much more. During the Iran protests a few months back, people were glued to Twitter, as it provided those in Iran with a vehicle to get up-to-the minute information out to the rest of the world.
Do people use it for silly things? Sure, but it is a powerful tool used in a serious fashion.
AMEN!
There are a lot of very funny, interesting people to follow on Twitter. They post funny, thoughtful and useful stuff.
It is also a very useful tool for driving traffic to websites. Most of the traffic on my sites (unrelated to politics) comes from links posted on Twitter. I have posted stuff that gets retweeted and many, many people who are not following me will come to my site.
