Actually its a scheme that transfers wealth from the young to the old. And it taxes the next generation heavily to pay for current beneficiaries. Obamacare is the most retrogressive piece of legislation ever proposed by a Congress.

It is a scheme alright and all those young oh-so-smart who voted for hope and change will be getting just what they voted for.

It transfers wealth from the young to the bureaucrats. It will cut off the old from health care. Given Obamacare, I will not dare to retire. I will be a non-productive old guy, the kind that will languish perpetually at the end of the line for health care and be flat denied treatment that costs more than a couple of codones. If it passes Congress I will be looking to relocate offshore. Quito might be nice. It’s cheap and one can buy modern medical attention there regardless of the status of government medicine. The gradual disappearance of effective antibiotics won’t affect me at my age but my children will face a world with medicine of the 1910 variety.
Obamacare cuts everyone off eventually, even Wall Street and the Political Class.
