Yes to both questions, actually. Ms. Prejean was wronged, to be sure.
But I'm sure you also recall the manner in which she was immediately raised onto a pedestal by conservatives, Christian groups, and so on, with the theme of "pure, moral Christian girl wronged for standing up for what she believed in," and she gladly went along with it.
It would be nice to think that she merely got caught in the swirl and couldn't find a way out. But her behavior doesn't really support that theory.
And so now she's outed as rather less than wholesome, and those who supported her feel like fools.
None of us is perfect; the lesson is that we should not try to sell ourselves as such, especially when there are people out there with a vested interest in making you a hypocrite. That's where Carrie Prejean is tonight.

Excuse me. Are you implying that a person who has a cocktail cannot also be a Christian? The tenor of this entire thread is quite vexing. It seems that some of us are as inappropriately judgmental of Ms. Prejean as the gay population of this country. She, like the rest of us is imperfect. She has claimed no divinity. Allow the Lord to judge - it is not our job...
