Obama Is Losing Independent Voters
The Wall Street Journal | 11-14-09 | SCOTT RASMUSSEN AND DOUGLAS E. SCHOEN

Posted on 11/13/2009 8:35:47 PM PST by GOP_Lady

A number of recent polls show the president would be wise to shift right.

The announcement a week ago of 10.2% unemployment is a significant political event for President Barack Obama. It could well usher in a particularly serious crisis for his political standing, influence and ability to advance his agenda.

Double-digit unemployment drove Ronald Reagan's disapproval ratings in October 1982 up to a record high 54%. It was only when unemployment dropped to 7.3%, roughly two years later, that he was able to win a landslide victory over Democratic challenger Walter Mondale in the 1984 presidential election.

Could Karl Marx possibly shift to the right? Impossible, neither can his student.

Heard a clip from a recent Jay Leno show where he said O’s approval rating is down to 46%!! A poster here on FR mentioned that recently but I thought it was a typo. Do we know which poll that was? Sounds several points lower than any of the other polls rate him. If it is accurate though, then it is good news!

Jay said something like “54% don’t approve of the job he is doing. I don’t think that’s fair. We should actually wait for him to *do something* before we judge him.” Pretty funny, and unusual to hear something a little negative towards B0.

Not a chance. The only time Obamoron would shift right if he’s being cussed by Me-chelle from the left ear.

Rasmussen had the 0 at 46% approve/53% disapprove two days ago. He’s up a little today but the trend, as they say, is our friend. :)

Opportunists always wait for the poll numbers to drop and then they start piling on. It's really the only intelligent thing to do.

I can't wait to stop seeing those stupid TV ads, with Obama’s old campaign videos, conning people into get government sucker loans.

Why does it take independents so long? Don’t they pay attention until the country is tanking?

I wonder what it will be since the terrorist trials have moved to NYC.

I’m surprised the Leno show would quote Rasmussen, or go for the poll with 0’s worst showing. They must be desperate for more comedy material.

Yes what is with 0 appearing in TV, radio, and web ads?? Wasn’t so surprising early on when a lot of morons still thought he was the great savior and these loan outfits thought it was going to bring them some business. Now it just seems silly. “Zer0 urges dads to return to college!” This pops up on the AOL page and other websites and it really annoys me.

People are very afraid of their opinion, in the chance their thoughts are not main stream. A product of our completely average public school system.

Double-digit unemployment drove Ronald Reagan's disapproval ratings in October 1982 up to a record high 54%.

That, and the fact that the very moment he was sworn in, the media began a barrage of "Reagan Recession" reporting.

Same thing with GWB in 2001. It was "Bush Recession" from the get-go.

Obama's been in for ten months. I have yet to see any major media source mention "Obama Recession." To the contrary, it's "Jobless Recovery", with emphasis on recovery.

I wonder about that as well. I was listening to Jason Lewis on the radio earlier this evening and a self-admitted liberal called in and was furious with the 0 about this issue. He was kicking himself for ever voting for 0bama and admitted he was a young guy that was swept up in the 0 frenzy. Hopefully a lot of people are coming out of their ill-informed, euphoric trance.

“I wonder what it will be since the terrorist trials have moved to NYC.”

He should get a big backlash re that insanity. It’s infuriating.

Not to worry...the shyster's investments may be safe for a bit longer. The Globe just announced a sympathy play...speculation of Obama having lung cancer, a sure attention getter.

LOL! Isn't that the truth? I truly think the Pretender in Chief is oversaturating himself to the point of annoyance to even the mushy middle. Trends only last so long. That's all the 0 is/was to the mindset that worships "cool."

Obama today.

Obama 13-14 years ago.

Oh, wait -

No, that's a 34 year old Indonesian man, Ilham Anas, who just happens to live in Jakarta, where President Obama himself used to live with his mother and 'step' father, the Indonesian citizen, Lolo Soetoro.

Golly gee. What are the odds - a mirror look-a=like in, of all the cities of the world, the very same one obama...hmmm

Obama chats with sister, Maya, daughter of Lolo S...

Now obama, known as Barry Soetoro when he lived in Jakarta with his mom and 'step' dad, Lolo S., and was registered in school as Barry Soetoro, father: Lolo Soetoro, religion: Islam, was supposed to be the son of this man, who is VERY dark.

but he and sister Maya, daughter of Lolo, look the same?

Family photo with young Barry and 'step?" father...if one didn't know better, they might say: Young Barry looks like his dad, LoLo. They even have the same smile - and ears."

then there's that Indonesian 'twin,' (Some might ask: "A half-brother? A cousin?"

'tis curious
