If the same New Yorkers voted for BO (like most did)—I say “Go piss up a rope-you got what you wanted last November, now enjoy the consequences”
NYC was hardly “American” before the attack; many people there had nothing but contempt for most Americans in the other 49 states (I don’t mean the workers in the WTC or the emergency personnel; many of them were average people from NJ, CT, upstate NY, and Long Island). I know someone who worked in lower Manhattan; he always knew when they were filming something there because there were more “Americans” than usual, even driving cabs; they were the extras for the sets.
