Thousands of radical conservatives crowded on to the steps of the Capitol yesterday to voice their anger over Democrat spending plans and yearning for the presence of the one person they really wished was there, but wasnt: Sarah Palin.
The former Governor of Alaska has emerged from Tuesdays off-year elections as a front runner for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination and the embodiment of grassroots social conservatism in most of the lower 48 states, as well as her own.
The trouble for her supporters is that, for the time being, she is available only as a disembodied presence on her Facebook page. I wish she was in the White House, then we wouldnt have to be fighting for our freedoms the way we are now, said Cyntha Paugh, who had travelled from Texas.
--snip--
The prospect of a Palin presidency is deeply worrying for many in the Republican establishment. She represents a passionate conservative constituency against big government, abortion and gay rights that mainstream Republicans must court to win funding and primary contests, but must then keep at arms length to be electable among the independents on whom most big races depend.(continued)

Palin also has a libertarian streak. “gun rights” and lower taxes, and of course a strong, “unsinkable Molly Brown” persona.

WTH?!?!?! I was there. There was nothing radical about any of us. We were not there over demonRAT spending per se, but in an attempt to stop the socialization of health care. We were very focused. I never heard Sarah's name mentioned...by anyone.

When will you people grow up and leave GOP leaders alone and recognize your own party’s greatest hero, Ed Clark of the 1980 election fame when your party reached it’s greatest glory?

Palin/Bachmann 2012The left talked in the past about how things would be different if women/mothers ruled. A mother of five and a foster mother of 20+ and both are fearless about exposing and punishing corruption. I'm ready.

If the GOP actually stood for ANYTHING, then there wouldn’t be a problem, now would there?
While you may not agree with much of the Libertarian party’s platform, at least there is a written document for each election that applies to every nominee.
Tell everyone here what the Republican party platform actually Stands For, in every district throughout the land.
How much does it change from Roanoke to Holyoak? Joliet to Juneau?

“...against big government, abortion and gay rights...”
Last time I checked, support for “abortion rights” was at worst a toss up and gay marriage initiatives are synonymous with ballot box losses. And don't even get me started regarding big corporatist government. The big lie is very much alive.
