Council for American-Islamic Relations national communications director Ibrahim Hooper said Sunday that the U.S. still isn't clear if the shootings at Fort Hood were an act of terrorism.
"To call it an act of terror is to jump to conclusions, to rush to judgment," Hooper said in an appearance on TV Ones "Washington Watch."
"Why can't the killer at Fort Hood just be a crazy guy? Don't take it out on American Muslims because you're upset about another issue," he said in response to questions the shooting has raised about American Muslims in the U.S. Army.
Appearing Sunday on ABCs This Week, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani offered such a judgment, saying the Obama administration has been very slow to react to the whole situation with Major Hasan, which was clearly a terrorist act in the name of Islamic terrorism.
I would want to see the facts develop, Giuliani said. I think the administration has been very slow to come to the conclusion that Major Hasan was an Islamic extremist terrorist. I mean, the reality is, he announced "Allah akbar" when he shot and killed those people. He was communicating with a cleric who was encouraging terrorism. And now it turns out he has -- he even has business cards saying 'solder of Allah.'"
Hooper said that CAIR has been the target of death threats since the shootings, and asked: "Are those terrorist threats or is it only a terrorist threat if a Muslim does it?"
The group issued a statement immediately after the shooting strongly condemning it as inimical to Islam, and its president called it particularly heinous in that it targeted our nations all-volunteer army that includes thousands of Muslims. It also issued a statement condemning an Iman who praised the alleged shooter.
One in the same......
Heres the problem, sure they dont want to take responsibility for their “armies” of terrorists active globally. But how has Islam spread over the last FOURTEEN HUNDRED years?
Global Islam has armies active at all times, globally.
The last thing they want to admit to now is the relationship of violence and Islam.... which has not changed over FOURTEEN HUNDRED years! They have their man in the White House so they want to paddle quietly a little while longer.....
Until you come out stridently, and frequently, condemning violence committed by Muslims in the name of Islam, you will be treated by thinking people as nothing but a bunch of clowns. You are the Islamic Terrorists Sein Fein. You are nothing but PR agents for terrorists.
Hey CAIR.. How about YOU START DENOUNCING TERRORIST ACTS DONE IN THE NAME OF ISLAM.
I dislike and condemn "threats" intensely...
OTOH, I admire and support "action"....
If the so-called “run-of-the-mill” moslem (i.e., those hundreds of millions we are told are just stand-up, law-abiding and peaceful folks) was so opposed to the violent actions of his brethren then why the hell doesn’t the ummah (i.e., the moslem society at large) ever stop these terrorist actions before they occur (because you KNOW that others in the ummah know full well about these attacks before they occur), or report them to the authorities? The ONLY time moslem attacks are stopped BEFORE they occur is when the intended victims (non-moslems) find out about them themselves. The ummah sits on its collective ass and lets the carnage commence, and then AFTERWARDS issues some weak little condemnation. The ummah cheers such attacks.
“’Why can’t the killer at Fort Hood just be a crazy guy? Don’t take it out on American Muslims because you’re upset about another issue,” he said in response to questions the shooting has raised about American Muslims in the U.S. Army.’”
You mean another little issue like the 9/11 attacks? The capture and beheading of prisoners on film? In the name of Allah? Little issues like that?
So why do they take offense at others who condemn a muslim who shoot US citizens in the name of their god.
Again, if we are to react to the Fort Hood shootings as the acts of a deranged individual, then perhaps Solomon Rustie, the Van Gough movie person, or the editor who published the Mohammad cartons should also be viewed as "crazy individuals, rather than having the wrath of the Islamic world come down on them.
Eh? What other issue would that be?
Who is taking what out on "american muslims?" Are those Muslims, by the way, the Islamists that are Muslim first and American somewhere down the line?
What is focusing my attention on this atrocity is that Nidal Malik Hasan, an admitted "muslim first, american second" Major in the U.S. Army, having visited mosques of Wahabbi sect persuasion, associated with terrorist organizations, planned in advance a personal jihad along the same lines as every other jihadist murderer, yelled "Allahu Akbar" while killing Christians and non-muslims, and had a history of pro-terrorist declarations as espoused in the Koran and Hadith, is being given a pass by the MSM and CAIR.
Crazy act of violence? Of course, that's because Hasan is an Islamofascist terrorist..
Why would they denounce terrorists? They support the terrorists.
Yep, no rush; just let the bastards infiltrate all our institutions.
They’re all based on that hateful Christinaity anyway!
It’ll never be convenient for CAIR to call it what it is. So screw it.
What is it going to take for the West to understand that islam is not a religion but a satan worshiping cult bent on worldwide domination?
