That is a proper “bow” among equals. Whatever you think about a President bowing, at least Nixon got the bowing portion of it correct.

[[If he had simply bowed and held eye contact, it would have been MUCH better. In Asian cultures, acquiescing eye contact is a sign of weakness, and sometimes an acknowledgment that the person across from you is ‘greater’.]]

Yep- dogs, when they are subservient to the alpha leader, lower their eyes, their heads, and tuck their tail between their legs and fall on their back exposing hteir throats to the alpha- I’m surprised Obama didn’t follow through with hte rest of the act- but I’d imagine he’s savign that submissive act for the Muzzies

a white house ‘spokesperson’ said ‘there’s more htigns to worry about than whether obama bowed or not’

Yeah? More impoirtant things to worry about than our president acting like an ass and embarrassing America? More important thigns to worry about than our president provign to hte world he isn’t fit for the job? More important things to worry about than our president giving extremists aroudn hte world a view of just how weak he is and encouragign them to attack while such a weak and inept president is in office? I don’t think so mr whitehouse spokesperson!

He’s a narcissist. Criticism is his mortal enemy. Let’s see how long he can take it before he cracks up.

I'd tend to think that it was more of a deliberate “slap in the face” to Americans interested in preserving their exceptional values and traditions and history, as a opposed to sheer cluelessness on Obama’s part.

First off, it is historically accurate that only Saudi and Japan have pulled off a sneak attack on American soil.

That's not entirely clear at all. There was intelligence that indicated that Pearl Harbor would be attacked that day. It does not explain how two US bases were attacked, with Clark coming well after Pearl Harbor. Douglas "Babalik ako" MacArthur had confirmed reports of Pearl Harbor being attacked. So why were all the US planes at Clark not scrambled and hence subject to destruction when the Japanese arrived for "dessert" after Pearl Harbor?

Even if Pearl Harbor was a total surprise, the real tragedy was at Clark AFB in Luzon a few hours later. We had total warning then. I smell a rat somewhere.

At any rate, we ended up dropping two nukes, one on the only Christian city in Japan and fire bombed Western Tokyo, so they have paid in full for their transgression.

I've never been to Hiroshima or Nagasaki, but I have lived in western Tokyo and I have lived in Manila. Western Tokyo has been completely rebuilt. Manila bears burnt out scars that have not been repaired since when the city was retaken by US forces.

I'll believe in the apology excuse when Obama bows to GMA. We do need to apologize for the shoddy treatment Manila received after the war.

That's not entirely clear at all.

It IS entirely clear.

Neither gave advanced notice, both attacked without forewarning.

The fact that in both cases we had some inkling through our own efforts does NOT mitigate the simple fact neither declared war before their attacks.

THAT, sir, is the very definition of a sneak attack.

It is a historical fact, and while you are welcome to your own opinions, you are compelled to use real facts, not make up your own.

Japan cleaned up its act, and has fully earned our respect and friendship. The Japanese are a decent, industrious, clever, and ethical people. They have without fail, been good and true friends, even when they were beating our pants off in the electronics and automotive industries. They did it fair and square, on our turf, using our rules. Although I personally lost a couple jobs to Japanese competition, I never felt the slightest resentment, they simply played our game better and won. Remarkable!

A few Japanese leaders made a mistake 60 some years ago. Nothing more, nothing less. It doesn't reflect any more on modern Japan than 0bama actually represents America.

Do not underrate ridicule and laughter.

Much more lethal to one of his ilk.

Right, the Dogwood Aikikai came later.
Having the pub up stairs was an added benifit
at least when I drank, although the impromptu
breakfalls on to the parking deck were tough.

Rodney had a house with an unfinished , actually
unbuilt deck off of his living room, one night
he went to close the door and fell on to the
concrete 12 feet below, made a breakfall and
survived with little injury.

As he used to tell us, “Always know where the earth is.”

My best to you and all.

Even though the 19 attackers and assorted planners were
from Saud, I don’t really think you can include them
in with the Japanese nation, the House of Saud did
not attack us, at least as far as we’ve been told
or else our repost would have been to them.

What do you think?

Hillary’s “protocol people” are getting a HUGE laugh out of this ONE!!!

"Hey, when he goes to the Philippines let's tell him the protocol is to take off your shoes and say 'smell the feet of my father's son!'"

Maybe one of his Filipino hostesses will pull a balisong
and say, “You no butterfly ME”, as she flicks it
open and closed with lightening speed.

Been there, done that.

I think the house of saud used them as their cat’s paw intending to accomplish the house of saud’s goals.

Saud’s enthusiastic support of all thing jihad labels them as the enemy.

Follow the money. The 9/11 koranimals were funded by saudi.

Thank you both, BTW, feel free to steal the tagline and popularize the idea. Remember Alinsky's rule about ridicule; if we can make Obi look stupid or laughable, he can be marginalized.

Apologies to Will Smith.

As far as I’m concerned if they are Muslim they are the
enemy. Then we should have taken Saud and their oil fields
and holy cities, but as far as we have been told, there
is not enough evidence to name a state to be responsible.
That’s the beauty of Islam.
Now were American citizens to attack mecca or medina
they would certainly hold our nation as responsible,
we should do no less.

I grow weary of being the target of Islam, the time is
past to take it to them.

If even that bow picture can make it unfettered to about 1/2 of our fellow countrymen, even without comment or explanation, I would say the fellow's approval numbers will go SOUTH another 3 to 4%.

As such the White House and the state controlled media will do their best to a) ignore it and hope it blows over, or b) have a convenient spin and dismiss it if they cannot ignore it anymore.

The main thing is, they won't want that picture being circulated far and wide.

I just know what the Amerage Joe in America would think at a Denny's or small town diner in the a.m. having a coffee, opening up to that pic in their town paper in the short, "Global News" page, and talking with the local folks about that Tokyo bow--later to see it ridiculed on Leno or Letterman. 'Specially folks over 70 or so. They must be livid, with Obamacare on top of it.
