Not surprisingly, the American Medical Association took umbrage to our recent editorial titled "A proud legacy trashed." The response from AMA president Dr. J James Rohack barely addresses the issues our editorial put forth. For one thing, Dr. Rohack tries to explain away the declining membership of the organization, when addressing the issue of the low representation of practicing doctors who are currently members.

They get it! just like AARP, ACORN, ACLU, SEIU there on the inside of this crime syndicate looking out and we are on the outside miandering about, in denial, oblivious, still getting thier news from MSNBC, CNN like local feel good morning and nightly news programimg from ABC,NBC,and CBS . WE DON’T GET IT! Many are still walking around with thier head up thier a##es. They are at war and we are not, plain and simple.

You are exactly right. We have seen this before- when organizations are begun by a few people of benign and ethical intent...those same organizations grow huge and morph into a playground for power seeking *administrator/bureaucrats*.
i.e. labor unions, community organizers, trade associations, medical specialties, Rotary, The Lions, The Masons, Golf Clubs and The Red Hats. They multiply and have dominion.
I expect an intellectual analysis and response from such a well educated group of professionals.
Supporting ANYTHING by the Kenyan Klod shows quite the opposite. No exaggeration, these idiots couldn’t light a bulb, let alone do any sort of complex analysis on medicine.
AMA, churches, PACs, Charitable Trust, Unions, etc, etc are nothing but Tax Avoiding Profit RENT SEEKERS!

Another case of liberals running an organization into the ground.
Non-partisan my behind! Like so many organizations, it has been taken over by who are primarily partisans. Organizations as diverse as teachers unions and the Episcopal Church have infiltrated these organizations and spent far more time working their way up the organizational ladder than on their professional work.

I am a physician, and the following is a post to me from a physician friend and delegate at the just completed AMA meeting where the AMA’s stance on health care was just discussed.
It was written at the time of the meeting. (The AMA only represents a small fraction of doctors, and most have dropped out because the AMA does not represent nor speak for them.):
“The shame of it all is that the support of the government option is centered on the youngest physicians, those in residency, fellowship, or in practice for just a few years. They just don’t have any life experience. Also in support of Obamacare are government physician employees and minority organizations. The other delegates pretty much agree that government involvement will lead to the destruction of the independent practice of medicine.
I should add that other physician groups also generally support the bill because of increased Medicaid coverage, such as ER docs and many family practioners. The AMA and these groups would sell out the future for increased income today.”

Yes! It is to doctors what AARP is to retirees; it doesn’t represent their interests.
