5% Of U.S. Taxpayers Account For 60.6% Of All Tax Revenue, 47% Will Pay No Federal Tax In 2009
Zero Hedge ^ | 11/17/09

Posted on 11/17/2009 9:17:22 PM PST by FromLori

An interest observation courtesy of Mint: of the 307,868,280 Americans out there, which compose 151,485,000 tax units, 46.9% will have zero federal income tax liability in 2009. Brilliant plan to keep the country happy: the poor pay no taxes, the rich get a massive stock market bubble to sell into, and the disappearing middle class...well, they can pay $20 for a hotdog and beer combo in Prague on that once-every-five-years vacation.

12 Trillion dollar debt divided by about 80 million people who actually pay taxes equals $150,000 each.. We’re so hosed.

If the 47% continue to pay 0 taxes, why shouldn't the rich just leave the country?? The middle class ( what's left of it ), will just give up and say to hell with it! THEN WHAT???

That chart goes a long way towards explaining our political landscape.

The bottom 50% of “tax units” pay 3% of the taxes. The upper half pays the other 97%. Still, the politicians have to resort to borrowing and “printing” to keep the electorate satisfied; to keep the riots from breaking out.

This will not end well.

Federal income tax, right? That’s just one tax of many. Even those who pay no federal income tax pay a substantial portion of their income in other forms of taxes.

As late as the 1970s, businessmen were still saying that competition was healthy—good for business. ...heard no more. If you want more tax revenues from the rabble for your relatives’ government jobs (to keep them out of the house), stop the zoning ordinance stupidity and HOA madness. Allow men to legally manufacture useful things on their own properties. They’re not going to pay business-killing flooring (rent) costs in downtown areas.

Or cry, as the governments default. I’ll be laughing.

Did you watch this Beck interview about all the rules/regs. etc., driving jobs out of the country?

No. ...haven’t watched television since 2002. Even Fox News was getting too anti-family. But I will watch that video now! Thanks!

46.9% will have zero federal income tax liability in 2009.

And they all vote, of course. For ever increasing taxes on the rich (anyone actually earning enough to pay taxes).

What does "equal protection" mean, anyway?

No they don't. Once you restore the "other" income that they get to ignore: section 8 housing; tax rebates; food stamps; heating allowance; medicaid; free school lunches; hospital emergency services; and the list goes on.

Of course, feel free to provide documentation for your asinine assertion...

“If the 47% continue to pay 0 taxes, why shouldn’t the rich just leave the country?? The middle class ( what’s left of it ), will just give up and say to hell with it! THEN WHAT???”

Why should taxpayers leave the country, simply deny those who pay no income taxes voting “rights” in national elections. Our government was not based upon all having the right to vote, if one does not have a stake in being productive or in supporting the tax burden why should they be able to vote? Indeed, with the democrat party bribing this huge segment with special rights and such they are voting against the interest of America.
