The Smackdown threads are noble. But I think accusing YouTube of being complicit is extreme. Aside from counting on the user community to assist in keeping it clean, how many man-hours would it take on YouTube's part to police it's own site when hundreds of thousands videos are added each day? I wouldn't be surprised if manually checking all the "flagged" videos is a Herculean task.

YouTube Fact Sheet (cached version for the purpose of highlighting requisite factoids)

Financially speaking, YouTube is a big losing proposition.

Sorry — I can’t be convinced it is “extreme” when they are being used by terrorists to promote their cause, and when some of the videos they have left up, literally for YEARS, are embedded on terrorist website as a source for encouraging more followers to become terrorists. If youtube can’t make it work financially, then that’s their problem, not mine. Ignoring what they are doing because I feel sorry that their business sucks is NOT a viable solution.
