How influential was the work of these particular climatologists to the over all debate? Was their data widely used and disseminated? Were they respected leaders in the field?
Very influential. These people were are big conspiratorial part of the IPCC.
Extremely. Two of the names with highly incriminating material are among the top proponents of the hoax. The only thing missing is any correspondence with Hansen. The bigness of the names are one of the reasons that some skeptics are urging a healthy skepticism about the e-mails’ authenticity.
They are the very disciples and still sorting out their deliverer...
Part of the point of the hack was that the e-mails from East Anglia have other climatologists world-wide as senders or recipients. It’s a sample of pro-AGW climatology world-wide, not something local to East Anglia.
Michael Mann (emails throughout!) is the lead author of the latest IPCC report and the developer of the (now debunked) “hockey-stick” graph of near-term temperature increase.
