The union that hates the Boy Scouts

The Boy Scouts' motto is: Be prepared. Who knew it meant preparing to de fend themselves against union thuggery? Kids, pay attention: This is a teachable moment for all of you on power, politics and Big Labor's culture of corruption.

At last week's City Council meeting in Allentown, Pa., a top official of the local Service Employees International Union chapter ranted about 17-year-old Scout Kevin Anderson's park-cleanup work. To earn an Eagle Scout badge, Anderson devoted some 200 hours to picking up trash and helping clear a 1,000-foot walking path with fellow members of Boy Scouts Troop 301 of Center Valley.

Around here they protested the use of prisoners to pick up trash along the roads, to demeaning they said, then they started an ‘adopt a road’ program where people can pick up trash along the roads, I kid you not. It’s too demeaning for a prisoner to do it, but not for a taxpayer!!!!

Unions have devolved into little more than anachronistic gangs of lazy, malleable thugs with entitlement attitudes.

No work gets done without the union being involved. That includes volunteer work.

The SEIU is nothing more than a Democrat Party apparatus.

They don’t represent workers. They only represent CONTROL.

What one young man is doing would have taken 10 union thugs and three times the hours spent doing the same thing.Unions are the down fall of this country.

Update:

Three days of taking body blows nationally from conservative pundits, a rebuke from the Lehigh Valley's congressman and even a lashing from his own union led Balzano to voluntarily resign his position Thursday as head of the local Service Employees International Union. Balzano said he and seven other executive officers of the local SEIU stepped down.

In a related story, the Boy Scouts have introduced a new set of merit badges centering around "Sloth and Laziness." The SEIU fully endorses these new merit badges, especially after the Boy Scouts bestowed upon the SEIU members a truckload of honorary badges.

Same here. We have the Sergeants Majors Association, Warrant Officers Association, VFW, AmVets, Special Forces Association, ....., adopting a stretch of highway. It’s too demeaning for a prisoner to do it, but not for a Patriots!!!!

Don’t mess with an Eagle Scout candidate. Not only did he clean up a trail in the local park, but he took out the trash too.
