FORT BRAGG, N.C. -- Hundreds of people are lined up at an Army base in North Carolina where former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is signing books.

Palin arrived a little after 11 a.m. Monday, waved and went inside the store where she quickly started signing copies of her new memoir. She did not make any statement.

One wonders about the last line:

Fort Bragg spokesman Tom McCollum tells WTVD-TV that sales of Palin's book at the post store have been weak so far.

More likely tens or hundreds of thousands, and the presstitutes want to hide that...

If anywhere near accurate these are the numbers being given out:

Officials estimated as many as 1,500 waited for her arrival. About a dozen people camped out.

“Fort Bragg spokesman Tom McCollum tells WTVD-TV that sales of Palin’s book at the post store have been weak so far.”

Probably because the troops are deployed.

I read on another thread that the book had to be purchased at the actual event - not brought in from outside - for security reasons. That would explain why they hadn’t been pre-purchased.

Almost as snarky as

“if 0bama supporters rioted in their own neighborhoods, there would be HUNDREDS of dollars in damages”

You’r right, they are that also.

But there is a new Pravda on-line that has better U.S. news than our own press. It is not connected with Pravda the Print only Commie mouthpiece.

In other news, the great and powerful Obama wins the Heisman trophy for 2009 season..in a surprise acceptance, Obama says he is the President of all college football!

People started lining up for former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin's book signing at Fort Bragg at about 1 a.m. Nov. 23, 2009. The Army set parameters for her appearance to prevent political statements that would be critical of President Barack Obama.

Where is Andrea?!!

Reporters crowd outside a Fort Bragg store on Nov. 23, 2009, waiting for former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, who was to sign copies of her memoir. The Army initially barred media access to the event to minimize any political overtones, but it later softened the stance to allow limited media coverage.

“Fort Bragg spokesman Tom McCollum tells WTVD-TV that sales of Palin’s book at the post store have been weak so far.”

They are in extreme CYA mode. First the base commander said no press, then he said, OK, a few, then he said that Sarah can't talk and can't write anything in the books.

Then this "spokesman" says this. Obviously the base commander told him to say it.

And obviously the White House told the Base Commander--or indicated to him in the Chicago way--to do everything he could to downplay it and most especially to prevent any signs of disaffection for the ONE.
